We ordered the latest Redmi K40 Pro from the TradingShenzhen store. We’re surprised how fast it arrived

We’re not writing about the international e-shop TradingShenzhen.com for the first time, and if you follow our website, you’ve definitely already heard about this seller. Recently, we bought a new Xiaomi Mi 11 from them, and we’ve described our purchasing experience in a detailed article.

Because we were very impressed with the service quality and delivery speed, we decided to buy from them again. Another flagship from Xiaomi’s lineup—actually from the Redmi brand. The expected smartphone is the Redmi K40 Pro.

Delivery speed at the level of EU warehouses

We placed our order for the Redmi K40 Pro smartphone on 7.3.2021, when we also paid it. The smartphone in the 8 + 128 GB version came to 493 €. Two days later, on 9.3., we received an email about the shipped package, along with a tracking number. We chose Global Priority shipping, which is basically the only option available for this smartphone with delivery to Slovakia.

TIPWith Global Priority shipping, you don’t pay any extra fees.

We recommend choosing Global Priority shipping, where you won’t pay anything extra. Customs fees and any VAT are handled by the seller directly for you. Shipping can be selected in the cart only, after you enter the delivery address. Delivery with Global Priority usually takes about 15 days, but it may also take longer.

We’ll add the full guide soon.

Shipping cost was 16 € higher, but the customer really gets what they paid for. On March 17, that is, after 8 days from dispatch, the courier was ringing at our door with a package. Ladies and gentlemen, this is what you call delivery speed and quality!

Plus, the package arrived this fast all the way from Chinese Shenzhen, where the seller has both a warehouse and its headquarters. The Global Priority shipping speed matches delivery times from European warehouses, where it sometimes takes 7-10 days.

We also can’t forget the fact that at delivery we didn’t pay any extra fees, because the seller handled customs clearance for the customs duty and VAT directly for us. The packages arrive at the customer already cleared through customs.

All the time, you could track the package’s exact route via the page 17track and see every step. In the morning on the delivery day, we received an SMS saying that our package would be delivered. Transportation from China to Europe is handled by YunExpress, and within Slovakia the delivery is done by a DPD courier.

A perfect “unboxing experience”

TradingShenzhen presents itself as a “seller with unique services.” We’ve already had this confirmed with our previous smartphone order, the Xiaomi Mi 11. Not only the delivery speed, but also the packaging itself and the careful securing of the entire shipment against damage is truly precise.

The phone box itself is wrapped in another three layers of film and protective materials. You might think it’s unnecessary waste, but when you order a phone from China for 500 € and up, you don’t want it to arrive damaged. Of course, the seller doesn’t want that either, and the shipments are secured properly.

During the unboxing, we were surprised by a gift in the form of an OTG adapter from USB Type-C to the standard USB-A connector, as well as an adapter from the Chinese plug to the European one. It’s a cheaper adapter, so we recommend getting a higher-quality one. As a temporary solution, though, it will definitely be enough.

Just like with the Mi 11 model, this time as well we found a sort of “protocol” in the box for testing important smartphone functions. TradingShenzhen technicians test each unit this way, so the customer doesn’t end up receiving a non-working device.

Redmi K40 Pro in the Chinese version: Is it worth buying?

Yes. With the Redmi K40 Pro, the Chinese version works in Europe without problems or limitations. Thanks to the Snapdragon 888 processor, it includes full support for mobile networks in Europe, including LTE B20 bands (800 MHz frequency).

The smartphone is currently available only with the Chinese MIUI version, but it includes English, and what’s more, the seller will install fully working Google Play services on your phone—so it’s ready to use right out of the box. If you’d like to install Slovak / Czech language on the device, it’s possible thanks to the modified ROM from Xiaomi.eu / Miuios.cz.

The Xiaomi.eu ROM is based on the Chinese MIUI version and is complemented with complete localization, including translations into languages not only from across Europe. However, the installation process isn’t for everyone — it’s technically more demanding. First, you need to unlock the smartphone’s bootloader (the process takes 1–2 weeks). Next, you have to flash the TWRP recovery menu, and then the system.

As for the global version of the Redmi K40 Pro, it’s rumored that the smartphone will also be available outside China, but under a different name. Variants like POCO F3 Pro or Xiaomi Mi 11i are mentioned.
