Great news for Redmi smartphone fans. New models labeled Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G and Note 12 Pro+ 5G, which were officially unveiled in the Chinese market just recently, will also be available in their global version.
Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G
The company Redmi has unveiled just a few days ago the Chinese version of its affordable smartphone series, Redmi Note 12. It consists of the models Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G. Besides the standard smartphones, the brand also launched several special editions.
At least a couple of devices from this series were spotted this time in IMDA certification in Singapore. And shortly after IMEI certification. Expansion to markets outside China is therefore getting closer and closer, although these devices should be revealed in India under the parent brand Xiaomi.
A global launch of new Redmi smartphones is coming
As you can see in the image below, the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G has the model number Redmi 22101316G, and the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G is Redmi 22101316UG. These numbers in the IMDA certification suggest preparations for global versions. However, we don’t know whether these will be identical devices in terms of technical specifications, since the certification only reveals support for 5G connectivity and NFC.
FCC certification has also been obtained for the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ model. This confirms that its global version is in the works. However, the names of these devices have not been confirmed.
The Note 12 Pro+ model should be sold in the Indian market under a different name. And it should be Xiaomi 12i HyperCharge. If that’s really the case, the base Redmi Note 12 Pro model could be launched under the name Xiaomi 12i—just like in the past, in markets outside China.
