So far, it’s only about the Chinese versions, but even so, we have an idea of all the key parameters the model lineup could offer on the global market as well. Of course, the official prices for the individual memory configurations are already available.
Redmi Note 17: 7-inch OLED display and a huge 8000 mAh battery
The base Redmi Note 17 will mainly impress with its unusually 7-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2396 × 1080 px. It also includes a 120 Hz refresh rate, a maximum brightness of 1800 nits, and an optical in-display fingerprint reader. Xiaomi also added several eye-care technologies, including DC dimming and an advanced night-use mode.
Inside, there’s a new Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor manufactured using a 4 nm process. The phone is complemented with up to 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 2.2 storage. There’s also no shortage of a microSD card slot, an infrared port, NFC, or dual SIM support.
The biggest draw is undoubtedly the 8000 mAh battery, which ranks among the largest in everyday smartphones. Charging is handled by a 45 W adapter included in the box, and there’s also 22.5 W reverse wired charging—so the phone can even serve as a power bank.
The camera setup features a 50 MPx main sensor with an auxiliary lens, and a 8 MPx selfie camera is on the front. The phone offers stereo sound—though it doesn’t have it—there’s still Hi-Res Audio certification, HyperOS 3, and a durable build with enhanced water protection.
Redmi Note 17 Pro: a significant generational leap
The Redmi Note 17 Pro model brings substantially bigger changes. It features a better 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a resolution of 2772 × 1280 px, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and an extreme maximum brightness of up to 3500 nits. The panel supports 12-bit colors, 3840 Hz PWM dimming, DC dimming, and a range of eye-protection certifications.
Performance is handled by a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset manufactured using a 4 nm technology. You’ll get up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage, with higher versions using fast UFS 3.1.
The Pro version pushes the battery capacity even further. The manufacturer has fitted a massive 9000 mAh battery that supports 67 W fast charging and 22.5 W reverse wired charging. Even here, the charger is included in the box.
The manufacturer also worked significantly on durability. Redmi Note 17 Pro received Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K certifications, making it one of the most rugged smartphones in its price category.
On the back, you’ll find a 50 MPx main camera with an additional 2 MPx depth sensor. The front camera has a resolution of 8 MPx. The phone offers stereo speakers, a linear vibration motor, an infrared port, NFC, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, an in-display optical fingerprint reader, and the Xiaomi HyperOS 3 system.

For now, only for the Chinese market
It’s currently a presentation exclusively for the Chinese market, and the global version hasn’t been announced yet. However, Xiaomi regularly rolls out international variants for the Redmi Note series with a few months’ delay, so it’s basically certain that some of these models will also show up in the global market later.
However, it’s still not clear whether they’ll keep the same batteries with capacities of 8000 and 9000 mAh, since global versions often come with slightly adjusted hardware.
