Redmi Note 7 in a durability test by a well-known YouTuber ended very badly

Popular smartphones from the now-independent Redmi brand have a clear goal. They want to offer the customer the best performance at the most affordable price. They’re doing this perfectly. However, it’s as if the manufacturer forgot about the phone’s durability, which is one of the key features.

This aspect of smartphones has been tested for years by YouTuber JerryRigEverything, who now set his sights on the latest Redmi Note 7. So how did it go in his test?

It didn’t hold up

While Xiaomi persistently promotes the high durability of the new Redmi Note 7 on its official profiles on the Chinese social network Weibo, the well-known YouTuber’s test completely disproves it. Of course, in his tests Jerry exposes smartphones to extreme situations, the likelihood of which in real life is minimal.

The test revealed that the manufacturer saved on the phone’s frame. It’s made of plastic. During the bending test, the frame couldn’t take it and the phone almost snapped in half. However, it’s worth noting that the frame broke only on the third attempt. The first time it more or less held, but the smartphone remained noticeably bent. Still, it showed great flexibility.

Redmi Note 7, however, succeeded in the front glass hardness test and confirmed the use of durable protective glass. Scratches on the display are perhaps the biggest nightmare for smartphones in real life.
