One of the reasons why fans considered the Redmi Note 8 a suitable upgrade over the Redmi Note 7 was the improvements in both hardware and software. Plus, it looks like the 8th Redmi series is built better—so it’s also more durable than its predecessor.
One Xiaomi fan recently shared his story about his own Redmi Note 8 smartphone. It fell into a puddle after the phone was accidentally dropped from the 8th floor of an apartment building.
Surprisingly, even though the screen was broken and water got inside the camera internals, the touch controls still worked perfectly well. The smartphone’s body was bent too, which in practice means it received an “upgrade” in the form of a “curved screen.”
The post was also shared by the founder and chairman of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, who highlighted the quality of the smartphone. Such a success deserves recognition, doesn’t it?
Redmi Note 8 specs
The smartphone was released in August 2019. One of the biggest highlights is the 4 cameras vertically arranged in the top-left corner. The phone comes with a 6.3“ display with a notch for the selfie camera, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor, paired with 4 GB RAM.
It also includes a 4,000 mAh battery with 18 W fast charging support. The special feature is a function that can clean the speaker from dirt. It can be done directly through the settings.
