It seems that Xiaomi has accidentally revealed its upcoming product. It should be a tablet from Redmi, but on the global market it could be called something else.
Redmi tablet to drop?
Indian tipster Mukul Sharma shared on social media, via Twitter, that Redmi is indeed preparing to launch a tablet for the local market under the Redmi Pad 5G label.
Xiaomi’s research reveals several tablet alternatives, including Pro models. If the new name includes 5G, then the ideal processor for this tablet would appear to be Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G.
The new product could be something like a less equipped model Xiaomi Pad 5. Even so, we could at least get a 90-Hz display and a screen size around 11 inches.
We assume the operating system will be Android in its current version 12, but what we’re even more excited about would be the MIUI for Pad layer, which includes several interesting features tailored for a larger tablet display.
It’s already been two years since the photos of the upcoming Redmi Pad 5G leaked, but so far we haven’t seen any similar device.
This has already managed to leak
The original information talked about a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, but time has moved on and we don’t expect Redmi to use this now quite old processor.
Back then, we also learned that the tablet would have a single 48-megapixel sensor on its back and a battery with a capacity of 8 920 mAh. Along with that, Redmi would definitely add some form of fast charging.

As for the price, it could be around €250, which would be a great price for a tablet with such specs. We’re still curious whether this tablet will eventually make it to the global market.
