Redmi introduces its first smartphone with IP68 resistance. It’s not for all markets, though

The Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi’s subsidiary brand, Redmi, introduces its first smartphone in its lineup with IP 68 certification—meaning enhanced resistance to dust and water. However, it won’t be available in all sales markets.

Redmi smartphone with IP 68 certification

Without any big fanfare, the Chinese brand Redmi has prepared a surprise for us in the form of a new smartphone called Redmi Note 10 JE. It’s a mid-range model, featuring IP 68 certification (enhanced resistance to water and dust) and fast 5G connectivity as well.

Of course, it’s kind of a sibling within the Redmi Note 10 series when it comes to looks, design, and performance. The pleasant surprise, however, is the integrated Qualcomm 5G processor.

Technical specifications: Redmi Note 10 JE

The Redmi Note 10 JE newcomer will offer a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G processor, 4 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of internal storage. Plus, it also won’t miss a 4800 mAh battery with support for fast 18W wired charging.

From the other equipment, you can look forward to a 6.67″ display with Full HD+ resolution and a high refresh rate of up to 90 Hz. There’s also a 48 MPx main camera and the aforementioned enhanced durability with IP 68 certification.

In addition, the large battery also took its toll in the thickness and weight of the device. Dimensions are capped at 163 x 76 x 10,3 millimeters, and the weight then comes to a neat 200 grams.

Smartphone price and availability

Currently, the Redmi Note 10 JE smartphone has been officially unveiled only in Japan. That’s pretty strange, but it’s not out of the question that it will appear on other markets too. At the moment, though, we don’t have any information about availability in other markets. The price of this smartphone should be around 219 € or 260 USD after conversion.
