A design and display that will surprise you
Right away, you’ll notice the modern square design that feels much more premium than the previous generation. This time, the frame is made of aluminum, which improves durability and the overall feel when worn. The watch is still very light and comfortable for everyday use.
The highlight is a large 2.07-inch AMOLED display with a crisp resolution of 432 × 514 px. You’ll also appreciate the maximum brightness of up to 2000 nits, so readability in sunlight won’t be an issue. Of course, there’s Always-On display, showing essential information without needing to wake the screen.
NFC payments finally available
The biggest new feature is support for NFC payments via Xiaomi Pay, which completely didn’t exist in the previous generation. So the Redmi Watch 6 NFC lets you pay contactlessly right from the watch without having to take out your phone or payment card.
The good news is that support for Slovak banks has been gradually improving. Xiaomi Pay already supports selected Mastercard and Visa cards in Slovakia. Supported banks include, for example, 365.bank, mBank, Prima banka, and VÚB, while Slovenská sporiteľňa is also available for supported Visa cards. However, the exact compatibility still depends on both the bank and the type of card issued.
If you don’t see your bank among the supported ones, there’s still a very practical solution in the form of the Curve service. With Curve, you can add your bank card, then use the Curve card in Xiaomi Pay. That means the Redmi Watch 6 NFC are no longer limited to just a few cards for payments—but we recommend checking the current support for your specific bank before buying.
Battery life and the HyperOS system
A battery with a 550 mAh capacity is one of the strong points of these watches. The manufacturer claims battery life of up to 24 days in power-saving mode, which is truly above average. With normal use, you can get about 10 to 12 days, which is still an excellent result.
The HyperOS system handles day-to-day operations, bringing better optimization and integration with the Xiaomi ecosystem. Navigation is smooth and simple, with notifications, music controls, and core smart features included. An interesting detail is the implementation of the function Xiaomi Super Island, used to display interactive notifications.
Sports and health at a solid level
The watch offers more than 150 sports modes, which will delight every active user. GPS is included with support for multiple satellite systems, so route tracking stays accurate even without your phone. It uses dual L1 GNSS antennas.
Health features include heart rate measurement (including a 24-hour mode), blood oxygen level, sleep and stress monitoring. The watch also supports swimming thanks to its 5 ATM water resistance, so you don’t have to take it off even when showering, swimming, or even diving up to 50 meters.
