Oclean X hit the market as the first smart toothbrush with a touchscreen. It was right up there among the absolute top models, but now it has been dethroned by its upgraded sibling – Oclean X Pro. It brings an improved motor, more advanced sensors, and new color variations.
During our testing, we went from the Soocas X3 and premium build quality is immediately noticeable with the Oclean X Pro at first touch. Another big surprise is its compact size—the brush is smaller than most regular models. It has soft bristles and packed smart features, which we’ll tell you about in this early review.

Premium, high-quality workmanship
In the box, you’ll find the Oclean X toothbrush itself, along with a hidden charging microUSB cable with an adapter. The package also includes a wall sticker-ready label and a user manual. At first touch, you can feel the solid build quality and the very good dimensions—especially the compact body.
The brush surface feels like slightly rubberized material or silicone, so it has anti-slip properties. Even if it’s a bit damp, it still grips well and won’t slip out of your hand.
As we already mentioned, we switched from the Soocas X3 model, which is also under the Xiaomi brand. In terms of size, the Oclean X Pro is far more compact, and cleaning is more comfortable thanks to the smaller cleaning head.
During testing, we personally found that our teeth got cleaner with the Oclean X Pro model—when we only minimally touched the plastic part of the brush head against the teeth and gums. That’s why we strongly recommend using only original brush heads.
These use DuPont bristles, which are already familiar from Xiaomi toothbrushes. They are fine 3D antibacterial bristles, and when using lighter cleaning modes, they are also suitable for sensitive gums.
Design-identical to the base model
The brush dimensions are the same as the base model Oclean X: 24.35 x 2.44 x 2.44 cm. The weight is also the same at 100 grams. So, they are completely identical in design; the differences are in the internal components.
Oclean X Pro comes in a dark blue finish, with a touch display, a main button, and a base area for magnetic charging. The cleaning head is removable—either replace it when needed or simply remove it for easier carrying.
The improved brush durability with an IPX7 certificate is also not missing, meaning protection against water and dust. It can also handle a drop or two, but we definitely recommend avoiding that.
Touch display and a powerful small motor
A feature whose purpose is quite questionable for a toothbrush. However, it’s a great enhancement, and with the smart functions of the Oclean X Pro, it’s clearly a benefit. It’s a 0.96-inch TFT LCD display.
The touch controls work a bit more specifically—you need to swipe starting from the very edge of the display, otherwise it won’t respond.
The standalone electric sonic motor can generate up to 42 000 vibrations per minute, which is 2000 more than the previous Oclean X model.
It turns on easily with a button. In percentage terms, with this toothbrush you can clean your teeth up to 13,000% better than with a regular manual toothbrush—according to Xiaomi.
With the touch display, you can set everything up
By default, the display shows the current time, date, and part of the day (morning, noon, evening), likely in case someone forgets. After swiping left, it shows the current toothbrush setting, where you can see the currently selected cleaning intensity, the timer, and the chosen cleaning mode. All of these values can then be changed directly on the display by swiping upward.
During brushing, the display shows a timer with countdown and skipped zones. Based on the skipped zones, you can see how evenly you brushed your teeth.
Loaded with smart features
Inside the Oclean X Pro, you’ll find a 6-axis gyroscope as well as a pressure sensor. These two sensors monitor the skipped zones. By how you move and tilt the toothbrush, it can detect which part of your teeth needs better cleaning.
However, one thing bothered us during use: a slight “scratching/rattling” sound—likely from the gyroscope when you tilt it and change the toothbrush position. You can feel vibrations in the construction and hear the motor louder, but it’s nothing you can’t handle.
The smart functions are hidden not only in the app, but also in the toothbrush itself. You can set up to 32 pressure levels, 4 cleaning modes, and there are also customizable modes depending on the user (e.g., if you regularly drink coffee, you’ll get a suggestion for a whitening mode).
We also appreciate the 30-second reminder via vibration, indicating when it’s the ideal time to move to another zone.
The skip-zone feature surprised us the most
It also uses artificial intelligence for safe tooth cleaning. The toothbrush can analyze skipped zones on its own and show which places and teeth you missed, or where you need to clean better. In our testing, this feature worked really well, and we were genuinely impressed.
After a while, the app can recommend an ideal cleaning plan, including how many times per day to brush. So you get a genuinely smart helper for your oral hygiene.
If you don’t care much about viewing your brushing stats, though, you’ll be more than fine with the toothbrush by itself thanks to its display. Personally, we used the mobile app almost not at all.
Magnetic charging and great battery life
The battery has a capacity of 800 mAh and very good battery life. It charges using magnetic pins for two hours. The charger can also be stuck to the wall, saving shelf space or preventing it from falling.
According to the manufacturer, the battery should last up to 30 days. In our test, we recorded much better battery life: after about 30 days of use we still had around 30% battery left, and after about two washes per day. So the battery life is truly excellent.
There is also a mobile app
Another feature is the expansion of functions thanks to the Oclean mobile app. Bluetooth 4.2 is used for connection, and compatibility is ensured with both Android and iOS. In the app you can view the brush head status, points for tooth brushing, set the pressure level, and choose a mode or a timer.
If you’re interested in advanced statistics, you get a weekly or even a monthly overview of individual brushing sessions. You can see when your brushing was effective, when it wasn’t, how long you brushed, and what kind of pressure you used.
However, the app can’t completely replace the display on the brush itself, because changing intensity, the timer, and the currently selected cleaning mode without having scheduled brushing plans is only possible directly on the brush, which is a bit of a shame.
Brushing plans and creating your own
A separate category in the app is plans for brushing your teeth. Here you can choose pre-made plans in advance, such as standard brushing (for people with healthy teeth and it lasts 2 minutes), super whitening (higher intensity and lasts 3 minutes), or the gentle “tooth bath” (specific brushing of parts of the gums and lasts 3 minutes).
The second option is creating a custom plan, where you can choose an icon, a name, brushing length, mode (cleaning, whitening, massage, …) and intensity. However, your custom plan can be even more complex, and you can add another 6 steps.
Final verdict
After going through everything about this toothbrush, we can conclude that its price may not match its functions and quality. The Oclean X Pro can be confidently recommended as one of the most intelligent toothbrushes on the market.
The possibilities for personalizing your brushing, the display, intensity settings, a pressure sensor, the skipped zone feature, or creating custom plans are already premium features.
From a functional standpoint, we can’t really complain about anything – it has very good dimensions, quality DuPont bristles, and magnetic charging with a wall mount. It includes a complete set, and with the Oclean X Pro your teeth will really shine.
