LiDAR, VisionFence, and precision of 1 cm

The biggest highlight of this new release is the EFL LiDAR+ technology. Solid-state LiDAR scans the surroundings without moving parts at speeds up to 200,000 points per second, has a range of 70 meters, and updates every 50 ms.

In practice, that means very precise navigation even in complicated gardens. It works especially well where competitors fail—under dense trees, by fences, near gazebos, or between narrow walkways.

Another important component is VisionFence, meaning a combination of LiDAR and a 140° RGB camera. The mower can recognize more than 200 types of obstacles, including chair legs, hoses, garden tools, trampolines, cars, or even animals like dogs, cats, or hedgehogs. Detection accuracy is just 1 cm, making it significantly safer for homes with kids and pets.

AWD drive, Xero-Turn, and steep slopes

With the i2 LiDAR Pro model, Segway focused on tougher terrain as well. The three-wheel AWD drive combined with Xero-Turn™ technology lets it turn in place without damaging the lawn. That makes moving around the garden very smooth, and the mower can elegantly rotate even in tight spaces.

The manufacturer states it can handle slopes up to 55% / 29°, which is an excellent figure in this category. It also handles roots, stone walkways, and even 4 cm vertical steps without any problems. That makes it a very interesting model for more varied properties too.

Runtime, noise level, and the differences between the versions

There are two main versions to choose from. The i210 LiDAR Pro is suitable for areas up to 1000 m² and, on a single charge, mows roughly 195 m². The larger i220 LiDAR Pro comes with a 10 Ah battery and can handle up to 470 m² on a single charge. Both models mow at a speed of about 156 m² per hour, while the larger model offers up to 180 minutes of operation on a single charge.

You’ll also appreciate the low noise level of just 59 dB, so you can barely notice it in the garden. Of course, it has IP66 water- and dust-resistance, so you can simply rinse it with a hose after the season.

Smart features, GeoSketch and safety

The app offers GeoSketch™ mapping, meaning a real color map of your garden where you can precisely adjust zones, no-go areas, multiple lawn sections, and edge mowing using EdgeSense™. It also supports Alexa, Google Home, GPS tracking, a PIN code, an alarm when lifted, and a 24/7 security system.

Another big plus is the built-in 4G module with a year of free data. That means remote control via the app, instant alerts when it leaves a zone, and live GPS tracking of the mower’s location.

The EdgeSense™ system enables mowing up to 5 cm from the edge, with support for the so-called Ride-on Mode, where the robot drives directly along the garden’s edge. It mows with a 22 cm cutting width using one disc with six blades, while the mowing height can be adjusted from 2 to 7 cm—adjustments happen automatically without manual intervention.
