In the past, Segway was known for making various “balancing devices,” such as hoverboards and the like. This brand was bought years ago by a then fairly unknown Chinese company, Ninebot.
In this merger, a new company started producing electric scooters branded as KickScooter. Part of the manufacturer also falls under the Chinese giant Xiaomi, with which they closely cooperate. After a series of very successful Segway scooters, it recently introduced a very innovative new product KickScooter T60.
The new product falls under the newly created Segway Robotics division, which develops autonomous electric transport vehicles.
It will come to the market during the course of the year 2020
Back in August / August 2019, at a press conference in Beijing, Segway Ninebot presented a new electric three-wheeled scooter branded as KickScooter T60. This transport solution, already interesting at first glance, is primarily intended for shared scooter service providers.
It’s more than likely that it won’t reach retail sales for private individuals. What a shame, though. The scooter offers really interesting equipment.

Companies like Lime or Bird operate shared e-scooters on a global scale. Additionally, there are various local governments that, in an effort to limit congested road traffic in cities, try to solve these problems by sharing bicycles or electric scooters. This new KickScooter T60 model is intended precisely for providers like these.
Equipped with a camera, artificial intelligence, and various sensors
This innovative model comes with a camera with location tracking and an internet connection. Thanks to this the operator can control the scooter’s ride remotely even without a rider. Since the KickScooter T60 has three wheels, it always stands on its own in a level position.
Thanks to various sensors and elements of artificial intelligence, the KickScooter T60 can cover a certain part of the route on its own. After use, it will either return itself or with the help of an operator to the charging station, where it waits for the next user.

Key parameters
The KickScooter T60 has up to three wheels, so it’s not a classic scooter. Inverted front suspension with shock absorbers absorbs impacts caused by uneven surfaces really well. With this suspension, the rider can lean in corners, but all three pneumatic tires remain in contact with the ground.
The scooter has up to three sets of independent braking systems. These include electric regenerative braking, drum brakes, and a parking brake. The maximum speed is preset to 32 km/h. This parameter can be adjusted according to the laws in the given region. The range per charge is approximately 60 km. The maximum payload is 100 kg.
The lithium battery pack is removable and easy to replace, while the removal mechanism is lockable remotely. The key components are waterproof to the standards IPX5 and IPX7. A six-core processor running at 1.8 GHz ensures trouble-free operation of all systems.
Price and availability
The KickScooter T60 was presented to the public, but it still has some testing to go through. For potential interested parties, it should be available during the year 2020. As we already mentioned, this e-scooter is primarily intended for operators of shared small mobility devices.
The price of the KickScooter T60 should be around 10 000 yuan, which is approximately € 1 300 / 32 900 kč.
