The new Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra was unveiled just the day before yesterday, and besides great cameras and fast charging, it also brings a great display from TCL. It deserves attention even though it doesn’t have QHD+ resolution.
TCL as the display supplier for the Mi 10 Ultra
The curved 6.67“ AMOLED display offers, besides the refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, a 10-bit panel that can display more than a billion colors.
Right now, there are only 2 other smartphones on the market that can render color accuracy this impressively. These are the OPPO Find X2 Pro and OnePlus 8 Pro models.
While the displays in the Find X2 Pro and OnePlus 8 Pro smartphones are supplied by Samsung Display, it turns out that the display used in the Mi 10 Ultra was supplied by a subsidiary of TCL for the screens. It’s called China Star Optoelectronics Technology (CSOT).
This information was shared on social media by the display manufacturer itself via Weibo. After many displays supplied by Samsung Display, this is indeed an interesting new development.

The manufacturer’s post also includes some specifications and features of the flagship OLED display for Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra.
For example, it mentions a Delta E value of less than 1, or a JNCD value of less than 0.63. Next, we have brightness in the range of 800 to 1120 nits, the DCI-P3 color gamut, and support for MEMC.
Among the other display specifications, it offers a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, along with HDR 10+ certification.
Oppo Find X2 Pro doesn’t use a real 10-bit panel, as is the case with Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra. In reality, it uses a combination of 8-bit color depth and a 2-bit decomposition algorithm to achieve display of 1.07 billion colors.
