Even though mobile technology has made incredible progress in recent years, developers seem to have forgotten about battery innovation. That’s why users still have to think about charging—and if they plan to use one smartphone for the long term, also about keeping the battery in good condition. HyperOS offers a great solution for that.

A battery status preview is a hidden feature in HyperOS
There are plenty of apps for monitoring battery status, but in general the rule is: the fewer apps you have on your smartphone, the better its battery life and performance. If you’re using HyperOS, there’s an alternative in the form of a hidden menu that monitors battery status and gives you a wide range of information.
The condition to trigger the offer is that your smartphone has the HyperOS (or even older MIUI) overlay installed. Then you just need to know the secret code to activate the offer. Enter the code in the Phone app – Caller keypad in the same way you would enter a phone number.

After opening it on the keypad, enter these characters *#*#6485#*#*. After entering the last asterisk, the offer will show with the battery status. If that doesn’t happen, press the green button with a handset after the last asterisk – Call.
The activated menu contains information about the battery and its status, arranged under specific codes. To give you a better overview, we’ll explain what each piece of data means. However, note that not all of the data has to be shown to every user.

Here are explanations of the individual pieces of information
MB_XX codes:
MB_00 – remaining battery energy in percent
MB_01 – current battery status – charging (Charging) / discharging (Discharging)
MB_02 – charging method – for example fast, normal, etc.
MB_03 – current voltage status – for example 4394984, meaning the value is 4.39 volts
MB_04 – current value of the voltage drawn by the phone
MB_05 – battery temperature – for example 297 which means 29.7 °C
MB_06 – battery status – if you see the info Good, it means it’s in good condition
MB_07 – temperature of the charger chip, i.e. the charging adapter temperature
MB_08 – current level of temperature regulation
MB_09 – maximum battery voltage when fully charged
MU_XX codes:
MU_00 – type of charger used
MU_01 – current charging mode
MU_02 – direction of charging output, or input (0 – not charging / 1 – charging / 2 – reverse charging)
MU_03 – maximum input voltage via USB
MU_04 – current input voltage via USB
MF_XX codes:
MF_00: – internal resistance of the battery
MF_01: – actual charge level in percent. If this parameter is not the same as MB_00, it may indicate a problem. Sometimes resetting to factory settings is enough.
MF_02: – battery cycle – how many charge cycles it takes to fully charge the battery from 0% to 100%
MF_03: – contact resistance with the battery – battery durability with contact on the motherboard
MF_05: – actual battery capacity
MF_06: – battery capacity reported by the manufacturer
MM Codes:
MM_00: – AICL result (limit of adaptive input current)
MM_01: – USB input current
MM_02: – charger maximum charging voltage
MM_03: – maximum full charging capacity (current)
As we already mentioned, not all of the listed codes have to be shown to every user. One of the most important indicators in this case is under MF_02. It tells you how many charge cycles the battery has in a row.
The higher the value, the more prone the battery is to a voltage drop as well as a drop in its performance. A value of 500 or more means roughly a year and a half of use and indicates a noticeable decline in the battery’s strength.
Of course, these are just informational values, and if they’re not suitable, you don’t need to panic. If your smartphone works reliably, then everything is fine. We only pointed out the option to check the battery status without having to install a third-party app. In the discussion, you can share what you found.
