Xiaomi unveiled the Xiaomi 13 series smartphones in mainland China at the end of last year 2022. Since then, we’ve been eagerly waiting for the phones to hit the global market too. A leaked poster has appeared that contains this magical date.
Premiering in Barcelona. Mark this date!
We finally have confirmation that the global launch of the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro models will take place at the worldwide MWC exhibition in Barcelona.
Equal Leaks user on the Telegram social network shared a poster that clearly points to the launch date. The poster shows February 26, 2023.
That means the global launch will be just one day before the official start of the MWC trade fair, and again it falls on a Sunday—just like the original Chinese launch. The launch date was already officially confirmed by Xiaomi CEO, Lei Jun, on his Twitter profile:
On the poster, besides the date, there’s also the smartphone line, the Xiaomi 13 Pro text, and even the Leica company logo—because as we already know, it also took part in the development of these cameras.
Full-fledged flagship phones
The Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro models will definitely rank among the most important Xiaomi smartphones this year, because they finally are proper flagship phones with IP68 certification.
Sometime in the second quarter, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra model should also be introduced—it will go straight to global markets as well. Until now, the Ultra was only an exclusive for the domestic Chinese market.
The smartphones have the most powerful processor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, premium designs with sharply cut edges, finally IP68 certification, great cameras tuned by Leica, and solid battery life on a single charge with fast charging too. We’ve already tested the base model in our newsroom.
We’ll see how it turns out with European prices, because compared to the previous generation, prices should go up. There’s even talk that the base model will be more expensive than the base Samsung Galaxy S23. The price of this model starts at 949.
