Recently, we informed you that Xiaomi is preparing upgraded models from the Xiaomi 12 with an S add-on series, and we still expect the Xiaomi 12 Ultra and Xiaomi 12 Lite models as well. It seems that Xiaomi is also preparing at least one more model for this lineup with an enormous display.
A revival of the Xiaomi Mi Max series?
The sparrowsnews portal published information that a new device from Xiaomi has received certification. According to leaks, it could be an unexpected Xiaomi 12 Pro Max smartphone, which would be spiritually linked to the Xiaomi Mi Max series.
We don’t know many details yet, but this model was certified under the code 2207122MC. The last letter suggests it’s a model intended for the domestic Chinese market, and we’re truly curious whether such a model would also reach the global market.
A display size over 7 inches
The display size of the Xiaomi 12 Pro model is 6.73 inches. For the Xiaomi 12 Pro Max, we’re told about an even larger screen that easily beats the size of 7 inches. The most compact bezels around the display should help with relatively comfortable handling.
With this display size, it will be a smartphone for a very narrow group of users who want to replace even the use of a tablet with such a device.
In addition, it’s expected that this smartphone will come with another as-yet-unannounced processor, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+. However, it has manufacturing issues, and its launch is being pushed to the second half of 2022. We’ll see what impact that will have on this smartphone as well.
This processor, even though it hasn’t been announced yet, is known to belong to the performance top tier among Android smartphones. Since only the first certification has appeared, we assume there’s still a long time until the announcement.
