Now also available: Xiaomi.EU ROM
The TradingShenzhen shop is known for its above-standard customer services, which definitely includes the installation service of the customized Xiaomi.EU system into the Chinese versions of Xiaomi phones. The seller is now rolling out this service also for the newest Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro flagships.
The service is available for a fee of €25, and for the installation you now don’t have to wait at all. Your phone will be shipped immediately with the European Xiaomi.EU system already installed.
If by chance you don’t know what Xiaomi.EU firmware means, we’ll explain it briefly. It’s a community-modified system based on the Chinese MIUI version, but it includes all European languages, offers fully functional Google services integration, including Google Pay payments via NFC, which work perfectly in this system. All banking apps work as well, and the system is fully secured for transactions.
The local SK/CZ Miuios.cz community also takes part in the development. Among other things, they release regular system updates. However, you’ll have to install them manually; automatic OTA updates don’t work yet. You can find the instructions for manual installation in their forum.
So far, only the Chinese version without B20 LTE band
In TradingShenzhen’s offer we currently only find the Chinese version of the smartphone, since the global one hasn’t been announced yet. A downside for some users may be that the Chinese versions of Xiaomi 12 don’t support the B20 LTE band used in Europe for transmitting LTE signals outside cities, i.e., in towns and villages.
In the city, the LTE connection will work without any problems; outside the city, the smartphone will likely connect only to 3G. Another important factor is language support – the Chinese version includes only Chinese and English. However, the seller will install the modified Xiaomi.EU system in the phone for your order.
Xiaomi 12 Pro: A fine E5 AMOLED display with 1440p resolution
The base model Xiaomi 12 will be like a “golden middle way” within the trio of new smartphones. The highest-end and currently best-equipped model with the twelfth generation is Xiaomi 12 Pro. These are its basic technical specifications, which we already know:

Model Xiaomi 12 Pro features larger physical dimensions of 163.6 x 74.6 x 8.16 mm. With a weight of 205 grams, its main competitor is the current Apple model – iPhone 13 Pro, which it beats with more compact dimensions and, conversely, a larger display. Even here, durability wasn’t skimped on, and the Chinese manufacturer offers protective glass Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
The display itself has a massive 6.73″, it’s an E5 AMOLED panel with a high resolution up to 1440p (3200 x 1440 pixels). It has a contrast ratio of 8 000 000 : 1, supports 10-bit technology, and also offers high brightness up to 1500 nits. The screen supports a dynamic refresh rate, depending on content from 10 – 120 Hz, and also a high sampling rate up to 480 Hz, which will especially please gamers.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
On the performance side, you get a next-gen processor labeled Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, built on a 4 nm process (1 x Cortex-X2 core, 2 x Cortex-A710 cores, and 4 x Cortex-A510 cores). The chip is paired with LPDDR5 RAM and fast UFS 3.1 storage.
The manufacturer even shared performance test results AnTuTu, where the new 12 Pro scored up to 1,070,033 points. In addition, powerful cooling ensures that even under full load in graphically demanding games, the phone’s temperature won’t exceed 43.5°C.
A trio of 50 MPx sensors and up to 120 W ultra-fast charging
When it comes to the cameras, you can see improvements here. There’s a set of three 50 MPx sensors right away. You can look forward to the main 50 MPx sensor Sony IMX707 (1/1.28”, f/1.9, 2.44 µm) with optical image stabilization, complemented by a 50 MPx ultra-wide sensor (115°) and a third 50 MPx telephoto lens.
Software enhancements aren’t missing either — CyberFocus, which ensures sharp shots of moving subjects. But Xiaomi also worked on software tweaks for night shots, which should be sharper and also brighter.
High-quality “selfie” photos are handled by the front camera with a 32 MPx resolution, located under the screen. Fast connectivity is then provided by 5G and Wi-Fi 6. The manufacturer has also prepared quality stereo speakers from Harman / Kardon with Hi-Res Audio support and Dolby Atmos technology.
The battery, even in such a thin body, has a capacity of 4600 mAh. And compared to the standard Xiaomi 12 model, the Pro version supports ultra-fast up to 120 W wired charging. The manufacturer claims a full charge to 100% in just 18 minutes. There’s also support for 50 W fast wireless charging, and a 10 W reverse charging feature can take care of your accessories.
Price and availability of the new smartphone: Xiaomi 12 Pro
The best-equipped of the trio, Xiaomi 12 Pro, will go on sale in the Chinese market starting December 31, 2021. It will be available in black, silver, and gold, just like the base Xiaomi 12 model, along with a limited green color combination that imitates leather on the back. These are the starting sale prices for each configuration:
- 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage for 4699 yuan (651 € / 738 USD)
- 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage for 4999 yuan (693 € / 785 USD)
- 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage for 5399 yuan (748 € / 847 USD)
