Our favorite Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi isn’t taking it easy and is preparing its lighter smartphone for the global market with the expected label Xiaomi 13 Lite, while the leaks also showed the device’s design. But its selling price won’t please, either.
Xiaomi 13 Lite: This is the expected smartphone design
After the Chinese debut of Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro flagship models, their global version is now also being prepared. And what’s more, leaks suggest the series will also be enriched with another model labeled Xiaomi 13 Lite. This information comes from Google Play Console documents and, in essence, it will be the global version of the Chinese Xiaomi CIVI 2 smartphone.
Tipster Billbil-Kun shared on the social network Twitter the expected European prices and availability of Xiaomi 13 Lite. He says that this model will debut in Europe together with Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro, during the MWC 2023 exhibition in Barcelona. Pre-orders and subsequent sales should kick off from March 8, 2022 at least on two European markets.
As for the actual selling price, it definitely won’t delight you. The leak talks about 549 € for Xiaomi 13 Lite with 256 GB of storage. That’s unusual for Xiaomi mid-range smartphones, which usually start at a lower price with 128 GB storage. So it’s possible that the leak isn’t complete and the stated amount will apply to the most expensive variant. Right now, though, we’re dealing with speculation.
In the global version, we should see two color variants. The smartphone is expected to be sold in a light blue and black color combination, with the standout feature being the prominent camera module on the back.
AMOLED display and Qualcomm processor
If we go by the specs of Xiaomi CIVI 2, then with Xiaomi 13 Lite we can expect a 6.55″ Full HD+ AMOLED display with a high refresh rate of 120 Hz. The display should offer a cut-out for the “selfie” cameras in its upper part. The presence of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor is expected, along with up to 12 GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256 GB UFS 2.2 storage.
The front cameras should offer powerful dual sensors with a resolution of 32 MPx. Then, the back will feature a 50 MPx main sensor Sony IMX766. As well as a 20 MPx ultra-wide-angle Sony IMX376K sensor and a 2 MPx macro camera. The battery will offer 4500 mAh and fast 67 W wired charging via a USB-C connector.
