The Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has officially introduced its new flagship smartphone under the name Xiaomi 14, featuring the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and a compact OLED display.

Xiaomi 14: Here are the technical specifications

Xiaomi 14 takes styling cues from its predecessor, but brings a new Skin Nano-Tech finish for the back. The phone has a very slim body at just 71.5 mm and a compact build with a thickness of only 8.2 mm. Combined with rounded corners, it fits the hand very well—even for one-handed control fans. The device weighs 193 grams.

On the front, there is only the 6.36″ LTPO OLED display with impressive, very thin bezels at just 1.61 – 1.71 mm. The resolution of this panel is 2712 x 1220 pixels, it has a sharpness of 460 ppi, and its maximum brightness peaks at up to 3000 nits.

The latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, unveiled just this week, will handle maximum possible performance. It features a new 1 + 5 + 2 architecture, along with a high-performance Cortex-X4 core clocked at 3.3 GHz. RAM comes in 8 / 12 / 16 GB, and fast internal storage goes up to 1 TB.

Xiaomi and Leica developed a new Summilux optics

Xiaomi brings new Leica Summilux lenses, different from last year’s flagship. The main sensor measures 1/1,31″, with resolution of 50 MPx / 23 mm (f/1.6) and a professional 7P lens architecture. This sensor is equipped with a new Summilux technology that boosts light sensitivity by up to 180 %. In real life, that means even better-processed HDR photos.

It’s been upgraded with a 50 MPx / 14 mm ultra-wide-angle camera (115°, f/2.2) and a 50 MPx telephoto lens with a focal length of 75 mm, OIS, 3,2x optical zoom, and an aperture of f/2.0. The front camera is housed in a cutout in the center of the screen.

Brand-new HyperOS software and charging with output of 90 W + 50 W

This smartphone also includes the new operating system HyperOS, built from four layers right away. One of them is a Linux-based kernel similar to Android, and there’s also the MIUI graphical interface layer, the Vela OS layer, and the Mina OS security layer—meaning proprietary, separate system elements designed by Xiaomi.

There’s also the HyperConnect layer for connecting other products in the ecosystem. And Xiaomi HyperMind (Beta)—your smart assistant—will use AI to help you control your smart home. The manufacturer also noted that despite the system’s complexity, its footprint is relatively small compared to the competition. On the Xiaomi 14 Pro device, it takes up just 8,75 GB.

Other features include support for CarWith 2.0, as well as an NFC chip for mobile payments and powerful stereo speakers. The construction has enhanced durability with an IP 68 certification, and for data transfer you can use a USB-C connector in the USB 3.2 Gen1 standard (supports data transfer up to 5 Gbps).

The integrated battery has a capacity of 4610 mAh and supports fast wired charging of 90 W, as well as fast wireless charging up to 50 W.
