The upcoming flagship series from Xiaomi will consist of multiple models. Xiaomi 14 Pro, however, will likely not receive a global version. That’s an unpleasant surprise compared to previous generations, which were also introduced for customers in Europe.
Xiaomi 14 Pro: Will it stay only with the Chinese version?
Xiaomi officially unveiled the Xiaomi 14 series two months ago for the home, i.e. Chinese, market. All smartphones in the series are powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Specifically, this means Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro.
If we look at last year’s series, Xiaomi 13 and also Xiaomi 13 Pro were officially launched in the global version for the international market as well. The only thing missing was the “Ultra” smartphone, which remained exclusive to China. This year, however, the situation is different and Xiaomi, according to the latest information, won’t release a global version of Xiaomi 14 Pro.
These are the latest internal builds
Xiaomi 14 Pro is Xiaomi’s newest premium model, offering truly top-notch technical specifications. Compared to the base model, it features a larger 6.7″ 2K AMOLED display, plus 120 W fast charging and a camera aperture of f/1.46. The remaining specifications are virtually the same.
But what do the internal builds suggest? The latest internal build of MIUI for Xiaomi 14 Pro is MIUI-V15.0.0.1.UNBMIXM. And in practice, the Chinese HyperOS is renamed as the MIUI 15 system. However, the screenshot shows software for the European region labeled as OS1.0.0.4.UNBEUXM.
It’s because Xiaomi made changes on the server after the MIUI 15 build information leaked to us. Xiaomi therefore halted development of the global HyperOS version for Xiaomi 14 Pro. And that confirms the theory that Xiaomi 14 Pro will likely not be released on the global market. The last internal test of the global version for Xiaomi 14 Pro took place two months ago.
And what about the base model Xiaomi 14? The latest internal builds are OS1.0.1.0.UNCEUXM, OS1.0.1.0.UNCMIXM, and OS1.0.0.8.UNCINXM. The smartphone is expected to be officially launched on the global market in January 2024. Other specific variants, such as the Indian version, will arrive even later.
