First details on the expected Xiaomi 14T and Xiaomi 14T Pro smartphones are here

Every autumn, Xiaomi releases several new models marked with the T label. Each year, it brings top-notch devices that aren’t flagship phones, but they’re also not far from them. Last year we had the 13T and 13T Pro, so this year we should see the 14T and 14T Pro. Just a few hours ago, a data leak from the source code of HyperOS appeared online, revealing several details about these two upcoming devices.

14T Pro: Will it be a twin of the Redmi K70 Ultra?

Let’s start with 14T Pro, about which some additional leaked information also appeared in the past period. The first reveal was that the device is a reworked version of the Redmi K70 Ultra. The HyperOS code confirmed that both models use the same code name, suggesting that the Redmi K70 Ultra and Xiaomi 14T Pro will look very similar.

Redmi K70 Pro for China

Another “kept under wraps” detail is that the 14T Pro will likely get a Dimensity 9300 processor with even higher performance and improved energy efficiency. The 14T Pro will support wireless charging, which brings us to the difference compared to the K70, which doesn’t support such charging.

14T Pro: Will get Leica optics and a telephoto lens too

Another difference between these two smartphones is also the lens. To cut costs, the K70 won’t get a Leica lens, while the 14T Pro will. The same seems to apply to the telephoto lens as well.

14T Pro: Leaked also the regions where it will be sold

Even 3 model numbers have leaked, indicating the regions where Xiaomi 14T will be sold, namely: 2407FPN8EG (“G” = global version), 2407FPN8ER and A402XM (Japan). It seems this model won’t be launched in India at all.

14T: The global version is knocking on the door

The base model 14T was listed in a database under internal codes 2406APNFAG and XIG06, which will be available on the global market. We’re used to Xiaomi selling different versions in different countries. Just like the 14T Pro, the 14T also won’t be available in India, but it will be sold in Japan (XIG06 version).

14T: Speculation about an unchanged chipset

In the T series, the main difference between the standard model and the Pro version usually comes down to different components — namely the processor and the battery. To illustrate the differences, we can compare the Xiaomi 13T and the 13T Pro, which have the same camera and the same battery capacity (5 000 mAh). However, they differ in the MediaTek processors used. The 13T has the Dimensity 8200 Ultra, while the Xiaomi 13T Pro uses a more powerful Dimensity 9200+.

If Xiaomi continues with this theory, you can prepare for the scenario where the base version will get a less powerful (some sources say it will be last year’s) chipset. In turn, the Pro version should be equipped with a newer chipset.

The wave of leaks will kick off in August with the Redmi K70 Ultra in China. Then, a new T series should follow a month later. What Xiaomi has in store for us next remains to be seen, but we’re definitely looking forward to the new models. We’ll also bring you plenty of discount coupons for these new devices.
