However, it ultimately depends on the phone manufacturer whether they decide to extend the software support program. In the case of Xiaomi 15 Ultra, though, you won’t be disappointed. The device will truly get an incredible, 8-year software support. You can also look forward to a serious set of photography features.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra: Updates for 8 years!
So far, something similar was offered only by Google or Samsung. Xiaomi will surpass them with its ultimate flagship in terms of support—by one year. It’s also worth noting that competition from this chip (and at least five more generations of Snapdragon flagship chips) may also join the 8-year support program, and they will definitely take advantage of this opportunity.
In short, Qualcomm will help manufacturers implement updates, which will motivate them to extend support. At the same time, this process will be less demanding in terms of both time and money. Part of the agreement between Google and Qualcomm is also ensuring two updates of the Android Common Kernel (ACK) by the chip designer.
Without that, such long support probably wouldn’t have been possible either—and this is a key factor in achieving this 8-year milestone. Currently, supported devices with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset that were launched on the market with Android 15 are included.
15 Ultra will be “God of night” and will get a periscope telephoto lens
More information we learned today concerns the telephoto lens on the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. Specifically, you can look forward to a 200 MPx Leica Super periscope telephoto lens with a physically large 1/1.4-inch sensor and an aperture of f/2.6. The focal length starts at 100 mm, but you’ll be able to zoom up to 200 mm / 400 mm.
The combination of a high number of megapixels and a large sensor suggests success, and the telephoto lens has the potential to perform even in poor lighting conditions. The same will apply to the rest of the camera system.
Specifically, there will be up to a 1-inch primary sensor, which has the potential to redefine mobile photography standards. The sensor will have a 23 mm focal length and brightness of f/1.63. In addition, there will also be a 70 mm f/1.8 telephoto lens. The phone’s manufacturer internally called it “Night God,” which means “God of night.”
Reminder: the Chinese launch of Xiaomi 15 Ultra will take place on February 27, with the premiere on the global market happening on March 2.
