As it’s customary, we already know a lot about this smartphone thanks to leaked renders and specifications that have made it to the public.
New color variants: What can we look forward to?
The latest visuals of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, accidentally posted by a Russian retail seller, show several color variants right away. For now, it looks like we can expect a trio of colors: a black-and-white dual-tone version, as well as an elegant black-and-white design.
At first glance, each of these models comes with a different texture. The black variant looks rougher, with a fine-grain surface finish, while the white version evokes a matte metallic look. It’s not out of the question that Xiaomi could release additional colors in the future, but for now it looks like these three will be the main choices for customers.
Flagship hardware and a bid to become the photo-king
When it comes to technical specs, Xiaomi 15 Ultra is aiming for the title of mobile photography king. Powering it will be the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, delivering top-tier performance. The camera setup should be absolute top-of-the-line in the market.
It’s said to feature a 200 MP periscope telephoto lens, 50 MP telephoto sensors, and a main camera with a massive 1-inch Sony Lytia LYT-900 sensor. On top of that, you’ll get a 50 MP ultra-wide lens and a 32 MP selfie camera.
All these parameters suggest that Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be one of the most ambitious flagships of the year 2025 in the field of mobile photography. If the assumptions are confirmed, this smartphone could even surpass its predecessor Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which in mobile photography rankings often placed just behind Galaxy S25 Ultra.
The big question is whether the new generation can dethrone Samsung’s latest flagship model, but we’ll find out soon enough.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra won’t be only about cameras. Leaked information revealed that the device will measure 161,3 x 75,3 x 9,48 mm and weigh 229 g. A major advantage will be eSIM support, along with a massive battery with a capacity of 5410 mAh that will offer fast 90 W charging. In China, there could be a version with a larger battery, but this information hasn’t been confirmed yet.
We also know a tentative price
As for memory configurations, for the Russian market the 16/512 GB and 16/1024 GB variants have been preliminarily confirmed. There’s no reason to rule out the global version offering the same options. The price of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra for the European market should start at €1499.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to be officially unveiled in China on 26. February. The global debut will then take place 2. March at MWC 2025 in Barcelona.
