The big October conference from Redmi wasn’t just about the Redmi Note 12 smartphone series—it also grabbed a bit of attention for Xiaomi itself. After all, it introduced its next laptop, the Xiaomi Book Air 13.
A similar name to Apple MacBook Air isn’t just coincidence here, because it has a very similar look to that iconic notebook from the American giant—compact dimensions and a tapering design. This is Xiaomi’s lightest and thinnest laptop.
The best Chinese e-shop offers it internationally
Xiaomi Book Air 13 is getting into the first listing from an international retailer that will ship it right to your home. It’s the well-known TradingShenzhen store, offering duty-free shipping via Global Priority.
That means you shouldn’t have to pay any extra fees, and customs duty will be handled for you directly by the seller—no “customs office” hassle on your side.

The thinnest and lightest Xiaomi laptop
The entire body is made of aluminum in white, complemented by gold accents, while the weight is just 1.2 kilograms, making it one of the lightest laptops in this category. The thickness is equally impressive—only 12 mm.
Thanks to the 360-degree hinge, the entire display can be flipped around, letting you use it like a practical tablet, an A-shaped stand, or a classic notebook. These modes should cover a variety of office-work scenarios.
Touch OLED panel
The front touch OLED panel has a 13.3-inch diagonal and a 2.8K resolution (2,880 x 1,800 pixels). The display delivers up to 600 nits brightness and can show up to one billion colors.
Its contrast ratio is 1,000,000:1 and it covers 100% of the P3 gamut. You also get support for Dolby Vision and DisplayHDR 500.
A pair of powerful Intel processors
The Xiaomi Book Air 13 comes with the latest Intel Core i5-1230U and Core i7-1250U processors, backed by 16 GB RAM and a 512-gigabyte storage. That makes the laptop more geared toward office work, but it can handle more demanding tasks too.
As for the port selection, apart from the audio jack, you only get two USB-C ports on the body—on each side—so it doesn’t matter which side you charge the laptop from. Support for a touch pen is also included.
12 hours of battery life and an appropriate price tag
Battery life on this laptop is truly very good. The manufacturer mentions as much as 12 hours, likely for light office work with reduced brightness. We’ll have to wait for hands-on battery-life tests for real-world results.
The Xiaomi Book Air 13 laptop will be available at an official price of 4,999 yuan (Core i5, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD), which is roughly 694 euros. The more powerful variant with Core i7 and the same RAM and SSD capacity will cost 5,599 yuan, i.e. 778 euros.
Not a word was said about international availability, so we believe it will remain exclusive to the domestic Chinese market. We’ll let you know about availability from international sellers.
