Xiaomi CIVI officially: A stunning camera phone with a 64 MPx sensor and a Snapdrag on 778G

The Chinese company Xiaomi officially presented a new model Xiaomi CIVI at its Chinese September press conference. It focuses mainly on photography features, but it will also come with a Snapdragon 778G processor with support for fast 5G connectivity.

Xiaomi CIVI with a gorgeous design and unusual color options

The new Xiaomi CIVI will impress you right away with the elegant finish of its construction. It will surprise you especially with its low thickness of just 6.98 millimeters and also a low weight of only 166 grams. Those are values that are close to the recently introduced stylish smartphone Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite NE 5G. Even though it has a 6.55″ display, the phone’s overall width is capped at 71.5 mm.

The available color variants are also not exactly dull. It’s no secret that in China the smartphone is aimed primarily at women, which is also suggested by the color options. Besides the blue pearl option we saw in photos before the launch, the phone will also be available in black pearl and a pink variant with a texture literally like cat fur.

The equipment also includes a 6.55″ 3D OLED display with curved edges, Full HD+ resolution, and a high refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. This time, the fingerprint reader is placed under the surface of the display. The display offers up to 1 billion colors and also includes a cutout for the 32 MPx front camera. What’s more, it will feature very thin bezels—especially the bottom one, which is just 2.55 millimeters.

4500 mAh in a 7 mm thin design

As announced before the launch, Xiaomi CIVI comes with a large 4500 mAh battery. Thanks to the sub-7 mm thickness of the body, Xiaomi managed to integrate a really decent battery into the device.

There’s also 55 W fast charging, thanks to which the battery will charge to 100% in just 45 minutes. Xiaomi claims battery life of more than one day.

On the performance side, you can look forward to an octa-core processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G, manufactured using a 6 nm process. It is complemented by the Adreno 642L graphics chip, 8 / 12 GB RAM and 128 / 256 GB of internal storage.

The lineup also includes a pair of stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos sound, and it also features NFC for contactless payments.

Focused on photography

At the presentation, the Xiaomi CIVI smartphone was introduced with a focus on photography. Xiaomi primarily focused on perfect selfie photos with advanced skin retouching, as the phone is designed mainly for women. The front camera gets 32 MPx resolution.

Artificial intelligence is equipped with a pixel-level skin rejuvenation technology that preserves skin characteristics and a kind of natural skin surface.

On the back there’s a large camera module that, in design, resembles a competing Vivo model. The main sensor with a size of 1/1.97″ offers 64 MPx resolution, has a f/1.79 aperture, and uses a Samsung GW3 sensor. This sensor is complemented by an 8 MPx ultra-wide sensor with a field of view of up to 120° and an f/2.2 aperture. This duo is rounded out only by a 2 MPx macro sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.
