A new week has started, and right at the beginning new information is coming in about the expected Xiaomi Mi 10 and Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro. Even the company Xiaomi is fighting disinformation and, on its official social media accounts, shares several interesting details.

Beautiful design

Simply put: “it’s beautiful”. We’re not even trying to find other words to describe the look of the new flagship. An advertising poster featuring Xiaomi Mi 10 shows three colorful variants of the smartphone.

An amazing, side-curved display covers almost the entire front of the smartphone, and the bezels at the top and bottom are minimal. The back comes with pastel shades of pink, turquoise, and blue, and has a gradient character—shades change depending on the angle of the incoming light.

4 powerful camera sensors are arranged in a neat line along with an LED flash, and thankfully they don’t resemble a “triple-platter” or an induction cooktop like the Galaxy S20 will come with.

Xiaomi describes the new product as a dream:

“A dreamed-of smartphone for many Mi Fans (fans of the brand). The result, which will be released in just three days, brings together 10 years of the brand’s efforts, 10 years of listening to the fans, collecting their experiences and suggestions. It’s 10 years of development—and now Xiaomi has reached this masterpiece.”

Fast data calculations also require high-quality cooling

In a recent article, we informed you about thepillars of high-performance equipment of the new Xiaomi Mi 10. These include Snapdragon 865, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.0 storage, and WiFi 6 technology. Today, information is coming about cooling and heat dissipation.

In this case, the manufacturer had to focus not only on active cooling but also on passive cooling. Special materials take care of that—they have excellent heat-dissipation properties. In Mi 10, the manufacturer distinguishes cooling forms with up to 5 different elements, whereas in regular phones it’s usually just one.

First of all, it will be an area of up to 3000 mm² of active VC cooling – Vapor Chamber (in translation: vapor chamber). Another built-in element will be a large area of multilayer graphite. 6 layers of graphite sheets cover almost the entire body, and in the area of the camera and flash, independent graphite cooling is added.

The third heat-dissipating element used is graphene. It has excellent heat-dissipation properties and is used mainly in the area around the processor. And last but not least, the manufacturer also used a matrix temperature-sensor technology, which together with the AI temperature-control strategy, meaning artificial intelligence, will contribute to stable and lower temperatures during the process.

Every component in the Xiaomi Mi 10 is also covered with an appropriate amount of copper foil along with a heat-conductive gel.

The largest liquid cooling area

A rather new technology of active cooling based on VC – Vapor Chamber – is currently used by multiple manufacturers of top-tier smartphones. However, Xiaomi Mi 10 will be a smartphone with the largest VC panel area in the world.

In the photo of the disassembled smartphone, you can see the cooling surface of the VC module and its shape. Below, Xiaomi Mi 10 is compared with another top-end smartphone from a competing brand. The active cooling area is unusually large, and as we already mentioned, it reaches up to 3 000 mm². It’s three times bigger than, for example, in the Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G.

And another comparison. Developers tested the cooling process during gaming. After about 45 minutes of playing a demanding graphics game on Xiaomi Mi 10 and Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G, interesting values were measured.

Presentation in three days

Xiaomi Mi 10 and the upgraded version Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro will be presented through a live video stream on 13. February / February at 14:00 p.m. local time. Of course, we’ll be there and we’ll try to bring you comprehensive information first.
