What exactly is Li-Ning? Definitely not an unknown Chinese brand
Li Ning founded the legendary Chinese gymnast Li Ning in 1990. At the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 1984, he won six medals, and later became the final Olympic torch runner during the opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
So the athlete gradually became the founder of one of the best-known Chinese sports companies. Li Ning Company Limited has even been publicly traded on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange since 2004.
Today, the brand focuses primarily on running, basketball, training, badminton, table tennis, and sports fashion. Development isn’t just about producing cheap sneakers, though. Li-Ning has its own R&D capacities and created technologies like BOOM, SUPER BOOM, LIGHT FOAM, as well as various stabilization and cushioning systems. That’s why you’re increasingly likely to come across Li-Ning products outside of China as well.
What does Li-Ning have in common with Xiaomi?
This is exactly where we get to the reason the brand is interesting even for Xiaomi Planet. Li-Ning products appear on the Xiaomi Youpin platform, but that doesn’t mean Li-Ning is part of the Xiaomi ecosystem. The Li-Ning Red Hare 9 model with the label ARPW003 ranks among the brand’s more affordable running options. More expensive versions are also available, such as Red Hare 9 Pro or Red Hare 9 Ultra. The base model is mainly built as a versatile training shoe for regular running, shorter faster workouts, conditioning runs, or simply everyday wear.
The upper is made from lightweight textile jacquard material with perforations, designed to ensure good ventilation for your feet. The construction also reinforces the most heavily loaded areas, and the heel gets an additional stabilizing element. Classic lacing then lets you adjust the fit to your needs.

LIGHT FOAM ULTRA and durable TUFF RB outsole
One of the most important parts of these sneakers is the midsole with the LIGHT FOAM ULTRA technology. With this technology, Li-Ning focuses on low weight, flexibility, and more even cushioning on impact. That’s why the Red Hare 9 shouldn’t feel like a hard, cheap sports shoe—but rather a lightweight training model built for regular running.
The bottom part uses the TUFF RB technology, i.e., a rubber compound designed with durability against abrasion and good grip in mind. The lifespan of the outsole is often one of the weak points in cheaper running sneakers, so this kind of solution will definitely please you. When choosing a size, we recommend you don’t rely only on the number you normally wear with European brands. Li-Ning uses its own size chart, so measure your foot length in centimeters before ordering and compare it directly with the seller’s chart. For running shoes, the right size and enough toe room are extremely important.
