Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro should arrive as the first smartphone with the new technology that we’re all waiting for

The upcoming Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro smartphone should bring new technology that the base model Xiaomi Mi 11 does not have. This is an under-display selfie camera that many people are eagerly waiting for.

An under-display selfie camera?

After the official announcement and the subsequent presentation of Xiaomi’s new flagship Xiaomi Mi 11, it’s slowly but surely starting to talk about an upgraded model in the form of Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro. It should be unveiled as early as February 2021.

So far, only recently has a Chinese informant shared this secret and unconfirmed information, talking specifically about the differences between the classic and Pro model. It won’t be any major differences, but still, we should expect some changes.

The Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro model should get the same display as in the case of the Xiaomi Mi 11 model, while the camera style and placement should also remain unchanged. Whether this will truly be the case is still uncertain.

Still, there are various speculations that the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro will be equipped with an under-display front camera. It would be the third generation of this technology, which is officially patented directly by Xiaomi.

This technology has been in development for some time, while the third generation again uses a new pixel arrangement and a redesigned pixel control circuit. But what does that mean in practice?

An improved under-display camera technology

The new pixel arrangement increases overall light throughput on the front of the screen, which makes it possible to achieve practically the same photo quality as with a traditional front selfie camera located in either a punch-hole, a notch, or a motorized mechanism.

The more certain difference, however, should be the main camera. According to speculation, the Mi 11 Pro should be improved with optical zoom and a periscope camera.
