Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is one of the best-equipped smartphones on the market today. And at the same time, one of the most interesting. For example, it stands out with the secondary display on the back and excellent cameras, which has pushed it all the way to the top spot in DxOMark’s camera rankings.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is the most expensive smartphone from the manufacturer
Top specs and all the extra features “on top” have, however, taken their toll. The price is what’s doing it—one that exceeds the 1200 euro threshold. That puts it at the level of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra or the iPhone 12 Pro Max. So what does it look like with repair costs for this new device? Well, it definitely won’t be cheap.
Lei Jun himself, Xiaomi’s CEO, said during the smartphone presentation that individual components aren’t among the cheapest. As has become customary, smartphones may be made from quality materials, but they’re also rather fragile. And that’s true for the new Mi 11 Ultra as well.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra display costs over 200 €, the mainboard even more
Xiaomi has published an official price list for out-of-warranty repairs. Repairing the mainboard will cost you 312 euros, which is more than a brand-new POCO X3 NFC. The display isn’t cheap either—it’s priced at 212 euros to fix. Compared, for example, to the cost of repairing the Galaxy S21 Ultra display, Xiaomi is still cheaper. Samsung is still several hundred euros more expensive.
💡 All prices in this article apply only to the Chinese market, and outside China prices may be even higher.
Repairing a flagship phone’s camera usually costs up to 100 euros, but for Mi 11 Ultra you’ll pay as much as 177 euros for a new camera module. That’s also proof that Xiaomi used genuinely high-quality sensors. On the other hand, the price of replacing a 5000 mAh battery is a pleasant surprise—it’s just 23 euros. A new back cover will cost you 54 euros.
These prices only confirm that Xiaomi is long past being a manufacturer that makes just cheap smartphones at bargain prices. This year it went all in, and its latest flagship is competing with the absolute best—not only in specs, but also in price.
The prices may be even higher
To wrap up, we should add that you need to take the prices with a pinch of salt, and we can expect them to be even higher. For now, it’s just an indicative price list—if it turns out to be valid, it may apply only to the Chinese market. In the end, that means you’ll pay a hefty amount to repair your new Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. So you should definitely be careful with it.
