February 20, mark it on your calendar
As of February 20 / February, we’ll be witnessing the highly anticipated Xiaomi Mi 9 flagship. The unveiling will take place in its home country, China; later, the global market should follow as well.

This year, the manufacturer has decided to unveil its flagship much earlier than in previous years. Mi 8, for example, was launched in May. Xiaomi shared the launch date on its official Weibo profile; later, it was also confirmed by Donovan Sung, Xiaomi’s representative for the global market.
Besides the launch date, the company also announced a limited-time contest with the Chinese boy band TFBOYS. Up to 100 people can win a limited cover featuring the band’s theme. Thanks to the contest, we also get our very first official look at the back of the Mi 9. It’s revealed by the contest poster.
What we can notice most are three camera lenses arranged vertically. Below them there is an LED flash. Recent rumors didn’t lie, and the Mi 9 will indeed feature a triple camera.
More news will arrive on February 24
On Xiaomi’s official Twitter profile, a poster with the date February 24 / February also appeared today, talking about the unveiling of more news. This time, the event will be held in Barcelona, Spain.

However, the manufacturer hasn’t announced which products it plans to introduce yet. Early hints point to a 5G version of the Mi MIX 3, but we might also see a global version of the Redmi Note 7. It’s also possible that Xiaomi will unveil a global version of the new Xiaomi Mi 9 flagship.
