Added a multi-function display
In terms of design, the Xiaomi Mi Electric Scooter Pro is very similar to its predecessor. However, it gained a new element that was missing before – a color display.
It’s placed directly on the handlebars and, besides the current speed, it also shows the battery status, the lights status, the selected riding mode, and the Bluetooth connection state.
3 speed modes and a more powerful motor
The Mi Electric Scooter Pro comes with up to three riding modes – Eco, Standard (D) and Quick (S). The Eco mode is also known from the previous model, and the maximum speed in this mode is 15 km/h. As the name suggests, it’s the most battery-friendly.
In standard mode, the max. speed of the scooter is 20 km/h, and in quick mode it’s 25 km/h. This is also the scooter’s maximum design speed.
The new model also got a more powerful motor. The nominal power increased from 250W to 300W, and the motor’s maximum power is now 600W (previously 500W).
Range up to 45 km
One of the biggest improvements of the new model, however, is the overall range on a single charge. Thanks to the much larger 12,800 mAh (474 Wh) battery, the scooter can handle up to 45 km.
For comparison, the previous model has a manufacturer-stated range of 30 km.
There’s also a energy recuperation function, which works when braking. Effective braking is ensured by the well-known E-ABS system with a rear disc brake.
The rear brake light is also retained.
The weight of the scooter increased from 12.5 kg to 14.2 kg. Of course, because of the battery. Still, it can be easily folded and carried.
As for the wheels, we didn’t see any improvements, so the scooter rides on 8.5″ air tires. Flat tires are still a risk.
