Xiaomi is preparing something big in the smartphone world. The price should be up to 1300 €

Xiaomi has only recently launched a new product in the form of the Mi 11 smartphone—which, by the way, we’re already testing. As we’re used to, the Chinese giant releases one new feature after another, so here we have info about the next smartphone. The information was posted directly by Lei Jun on the social network Weibo. Will it be the most expensive smartphone from the brand’s Mi MIX series?

While many people are eagerly waiting for the launch of the global version of Mi 11, we’re learning about another upcoming release from Xiaomi. The brand’s CEO, Lei Jun, posted an interesting, cryptic update on the most popular social network in China that reveals details about the upcoming smartphone.

Lei Jun asks fans whether they would be willing to pay for a smartphone up to 10 000 Chinese yuan and what they would expect from such a device. Fans responded quickly and say that at such a high price they expect the very best quality and ready availability so they can buy the smartphone without any problems.

10 000 Chinese yuan is roughly €1300 in conversion. So this is clearly the most expensive smartphone the Xiaomi brand has ever introduced.

A new model from the Mi MIX series?

Everything suggests it could be a new model from the Mi MIX series, which is expected to be unveiled this year. Unlike the Mi MIX Alpha version, it shouldn’t be a concept, but a classic smartphone that will be sold commercially.

Since the social media post doesn’t say anything specific, we can only deduce what kind of smartphone we’ll see. Since recently real photos of Xiaomi’s foldable smartphone leaked online, it could very well be this model.

The leaked photo was taken on a Chinese subway, where what was likely a Xiaomi employee was captured using a foldable smartphone. It was probably a prototype.

If these speculations come true, it will be Xiaomi’s very first smartphone with a foldable design. Since the Mi MIX series is a so-called experimental lineup, it’s very likely that these guesses are correct.
