An unstoppable Chinese tech giant introduced the successor to its laser projector at the start of this year—originally unveiled back in 2017.
Xiaomi Mi 4K Laser Projector is now gradually hitting the market with very interesting discounts.
Great price for the global version
Xiaomi Mijia 4K Laser Projector has landed in a very good deal from retailer Banggood. With its brutal 4K resolution, you can buy this projector at a discount directly from a warehouse in Poland.
EU version packaging and Android TV setup
The promotion features the European version, which includes Android TV with all languages. In this version, the projector is also equipped with Chromecast, Google Assistant, and other Google apps. The global version also has the maximum brightness 1600 ANSI lumens. We described the differences between standard and ANSI lumens in our article on ChinaPlanet.sk.
For comparison, Slovak Alza has this projector listed for 1979 €, but with our coupon you can buy it in November sales for 1309 €. That’s a huge price difference of 670 €!

Video review:
4K image on 150 inches
As the name makes clear, the new projector displays all content in 4K resolution. Native resolution is a more accurate 3840 x 2160 pixels, while the projector uses the same laser projection technology.
Resolution compared to the previous model has increased by as much as 3-times. On the exterior, we don’t notice any significant changes—except for the new elegant matte black coating.
The maximum diagonal size of the projected image remains the same, meaning 150″. At the same time, the projector must be placed 49 cm away from the wall.
For a 120″ diagonal you need a distance of 34 cm, for a 100″ image it needs 24 cm, and for an 80″ diagonal the required distance is only 14 cm.
Very long lifespan and quality sound
The projector is built to replace your TV. That’s why the laser lamp’s lifespan is also specified by the manufacturer as 25,000 hours of lighting.
That means 17 years of operation when watching TV for 4 hours every day. Pretty solid. Projection is handled by the ALDP 3.0 laser lamp, with a contrast ratio of 3000:1 and a maximum brightness up to 1600 ANSI lumens (EU version).
The projector comes with support for HDR content. And quality audio can’t be missing either for a great image—provided by stereo speakers.
The sound is enhanced by Dolby Audio and DTS-HD technology, creating the impression of immersive 3D surround sound.
As we already mentioned, the projector can replace your TV and comes with the MIUI TV operating system with tons of multimedia content. Unfortunately, only in Chinese. However, the system itself can be easily switched to English (see the video at the beginning of the article – 5:00 minutes).
Smooth system performance is ensured by the quad-core Amlogic T968 processor together with 2 GB DDR3 RAM. The 16 GB internal storage will mainly serve as a backup.
The projector also offers wide connectivity. In addition to wireless WiFi and Bluetooth, there are 3 x HDMI connectors, 1 x USB 3.0, a built-in and output 3,5mm audio jack, an optical audio connector, and Ethernet. The package also includes a remote control with voice control, which understands only Chinese as well (valid only for the Chinese version; the EU version has Google Assistant support at least in English).
One of Xiaomi’s most expensive products
A laser projector isn’t cheap. Even though the one from Xiaomi is really very affordable within its segment, it is one of this brand’s most expensive products. The Xiaomi Mijia 4K Laser Projector costs 14,999 yuan on the domestic Chinese market, which works out to €1940 / Kč49,600.
With our coupon, you can even get it cheaper than the Chinese themselves.
