Buying on AliExpress for the first time?

This process is done through the AliExpress mobile app, where most people shop. Two things matter: don’t use Buy now and enter the coupon only in the order summary in the Promo code field. After you click Pay now, you can’t add it anymore.

1. Copy the code and click GET THE DISCOUNTIn our article, copy the coupon and click the button GET THE DISCOUNT. The link will take you directly to the product in the AliExpress app.
2. Use Add to cart, not Buy nowOn the product card, scroll down and click Add to cart. Don’t use the Buy now button—this skips the cart, so later you won’t have a place to enter the coupon. Before that, make sure the variant is correct: color, version, and whether it ships from an EU warehouse.
3. Continue to Checkout via the cartA pop-up will appear: Added to cart!—tap Check it out. If it disappeared, open the cart using the icon in the bottom-right corner. In the cart, check the product and quantity, then tap the red Checkout button. Only the items marked with the red circle are included.
4. Fill in your address and card, then look for Promo codeIn the order summary, first enter the delivery address and payment card at the top. Below that, there’s a line Promo code — expand it with the arrow on the right.

5. Paste the code and confirm ApplyIn the field Promo code paste the copied code and click the black Apply. The code is case-sensitive and must not contain spaces.

6. Check your savings and payIn the section Summary expand the line Saved — you’ll see the applied coupon there as AliExpress coupons/codes. Only when Total is really lower, click Pay now.

Apply the discount again in the order summary. After you click Pay now, you can’t add a coupon anymore. If Apply shows an error, the code has either expired, doesn’t apply to your item, or your order doesn’t meet the minimum amount.

Store Coupon also belongs in the same field. — a coupon from the seller itself, which isn’t always available and changes day to day. It can’t be combined with an AliExpress coupon, so try both and go with the one that gives you more. Coins are added automatically.

Xiaomi Mijia Desktop Fish Tank: A new smart aquarium built vertically

Xiaomi has another product in its wide lineup of smart gadgets. It’s a new smart aquarium that serves as the second model in the series. This time it’s built vertically and is especially suitable for smaller fish species, such as guppies, tetras, shrimp, and even bettas.

Based on information available on the Chinese crowdfunding platform Xiaomi YouPin, we know that the aquarium offers clear, highly transparent glass with an exceptional transparency level of 91.25%.

The aquarium has a horizontal shape and stands 342 mm tall. You’ll put 10 L of water into the aquarium—half the amount compared to the previous model Mijia Smart Fish Tank. So you’re getting a truly compact “fish tank” for a desk, just as its name suggests. Total weight without water is 4.2 kg.

When it comes to the number of fish, a general rule is that for every 1 cm of the length of a grown fish, you should have at least 1 liter of water. That means you can fit roughly 10 fish that are 1 cm long into a 10-liter aquarium (or 5 fish that grow to 2 cm).

Xiaomi Mijia Smart Desktop Fish Tank, however, is packed with smart features. Inside the new model, following its intelligent sibling, you’ll find a smart water filtration system, an aquarium cleaning system, and also an automatic fish feeding system that you can control directly from your smartphone.

The aquarium offers Bluetooth connectivity, and you can pair it with the well-known mobile app Xiaomi Home, which provides detailed configuration and aquarium settings. For now, though, only in the Chinese region.

The manufacturer also states that the aquarium offers several lighting modes to create different styles of ambient lighting. The aquarium light can even simulate daylight cycles to reduce fish stress and make it easier for live plants you place in the aquarium to grow.

What’s more, there will also be free ports. You’ll be able to connect additional devices to the aquarium, such as a water heater, an aquarium oxygenator, and more. Since it’s a small aquarium, it is powered at 5V / 2A, which means you can also connect it to a regular power bank as a backup power source in case of a power outage.

What’s in the box?

• The aquarium itself
• 2v1 physical and biochemical filtration element
• Water pump
• Drain pipe
• 2x cotton filter for the water pump
• Power adapter
• Manual + instructions on how to feed the fish

Price and availability of the new Xiaomi aquarium

Xiaomi Mijia Smart Desktop Fish Tank starts being sold exclusively in the Chinese market so far, and in the form of crowdfunding on the Xiaomi YouPin platform. During the pre-sale, the selling price is 324 Chinese yuan. At the current conversion, that’s around €43.

Given the capacity and the added devices for cleaning and feeding in a standard aquarium, it’s an extremely attractive offer. We’re currently checking availability with our Chinese partners for the international market, but you’ll need to expect a much higher price due to high import costs.
