Xiaomi announces a new update policy for its devices. However, it also focuses on smartphones from Redmi and POCO. Some models will get up to Android 13.
Up to 3 years of security patches and Android 13
The Xiaomiui portal claims from reliable sources that the Redmi smartphone series will receive between one and two years of update support. The Redmi Note series, the Xiaomi Mi series, and some POCO smartphones will get two to three years of official support.
It’s also good to say that this newly announced update policy does not apply retroactively to older devices, so they will only get one major Android system update according to the plan.
Below you can specifically see which smartphones this policy applies to, along with what updates the specific smartphones will receive.
This policy includes the following smartphones:
The Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 11S, and Redmi Note 11 smartphones will receive security updates every 90 days, with the last one expected to be released in January 2025. Each of these devices can look forward to system updates to Android 12 and Android 13.
The Redmi 10 and Redmi 10 2022 smartphones will also receive security updates every 90 days, with the last one arriving in August 2024 (Redmi 10) and in December 2024 (Redmi 10 2022). Both smartphones will also get an update to Android 12 and Android 13.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra will get its final update in April 2024 and will also receive Android 12. Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro will receive security updates until August 2025 and will get updates to Android 12 and 13 if they arrive.

The Redmi Note 10 Pro will get its final security update in March 2024 along with Android 12. The Xiaomi Mi 10T, 10T Pro, and 10T Lite models will receive updates until October 2023, and their final version will be Android 11.
