Xiaomi smart TVs are very popular in both the domestic and global markets. We attribute their popularity to an awesome price-to-performance ratio, as these TVs beat most of the competition in their price range.
As you probably know, these TVs are entering the global market with a preinstalled Android TV system, which belongs to Google. However, models meant for the domestic market come with the MIUI TV operating system, which is getting new enhancements.
MIUI TV with new themes
From Chinese sources, we’ve learned via the internet that the manufacturer plans to bring an interesting refresh to its MIUI TV operating system in the form of elegant and fresh themes.
As you can see in the screenshots above, the MIUI operating system for TVs will be even more customizable to your preferences—just like with MIUI smartphones—so you can enjoy using your smart TV even more. There are several of these themes right away.
They include, for example, Time of Change, Golden Spiral, Minimalist Life, Cute Honey, Planet, Acuerla, or Elegant Black Gold. The update should slowly start being rolled out to all devices with this OS.
We definitely appreciate this approach by the MIUI TV development team. However, if you wanted to modify your Android TV smart TV in a similar way, that isn’t possible yet. We believe that over time Xiaomi will bring similar options to the European versions of its TVs.
