- Xiaomi has expanded the specs of the new TV S Pro RGB-Mini LED 2027 series — it features its first TVs with RGB Mini LED backlighting.
- The lineup comes in four sizes (65 to 98 inches), and they all handle 360 Hz in gaming mode.
- The number of color control zones ranges from 2,160 on the 65-inch model up to 4,860 on the largest one.
- Peak brightness is 5,000 nits, with 100% BT.2020 coverage and reflectance of just 0.5%.
- Prices start at 9,299 yuan; sales in China begin September 2 — it’s not available as a new release here yet.
Xiaomi is off to a solid start with its TVs. The previous generation, the TV S Pro Mini LED 2026, was also sold here in local warehouses, and it was a great TV. But this new Chinese generation makes such a leap that you have to pause for a moment when comparing the numbers: from 704 backlight zones it suddenly goes to 4,860, and from 144 Hz it jumps to 360 Hz.
Xiaomi’s first RGB Mini LED TV
The main novelty is the type of backlighting. A typical Mini LED TV has thousands of small white LEDs behind the panel that can only dim and brighten. RGB Mini LED is different — each zone has its own separate red, green, and blue LEDs, so in addition to brightness it can also control the color of the backlight itself. That means the color doesn’t come from filtering white light, but is generated directly by the backlight.
In practice, Xiaomi benefits from 100% BT.2020 space coverage, displaying 1.07 billion colors, and the claimed color accuracy of ΔE ≈ 2 — a figure manufacturers usually quote for professional monitors. Image processing is handled by the new generation of the Master Picture Engine 3.0, with a set of six AI engines.
4 860 zones, 5 000 nits, and 360 Hz
The number of zones varies by screen diagonal. The 65-inch model has 2,160 color control zones, while the biggest 98-inch version reaches up to 4,860 zones. As noted by Notebookcheck, the previous Chinese generation ended at 3,864 zones. Peak brightness is 5,000 nits across the whole lineup, and the screen has an anti-reflective coating with reflectance of 0.5%, so it should handle even a brightly lit living room.
What surprises most is the refresh rate. 360 Hz applies to gaming mode, where the TV reduces resolution in exchange for smoothness; at full 4K resolution, the panel runs at 120 Hz with MEMC frame interpolation. It’s also complemented by VRR and FreeSync Premium Pro, turning the TV into a true all-around gaming display for consoles and PC.
Sound, features, and the system
Sound was tuned by Harman, and the base 2027 version comes with a 2.1.2 setup delivering 130 W, including Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision support. A quad-core processor with A73 cores and a dedicated image chip XM900 handles the computing power. You get 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. On the sides, you’ll find four HDMI 2.1 ports and one USB 3.0.
The TVs run on HyperOS 4, and Xiaomi adds a new generation of the Super XiaoAi assistant, designed to support natural conversation instead of stiff commands. The body is all-metal with a 49.7 mm-thick frame, and when wall-mounted the TV sticks out by just 5 mm.
The Supreme version is said to be even brighter
The lineup also has a pricier 2027 Supreme version, for which Xiaomi has not yet published official specs, and Chinese media don’t have them either (at least for now). However, in the visual materials the company attached to this version directly in its own e-shop, it lists a top brightness of 5,500 nits and a 4.1.2 audio system instead of 2.1.2. So treat it as very likely, not confirmed.
Prices and when it will reach us
Pre-orders in China are running from August 27, and sales start on September 2. The base 2027 model costs 9,299 yuan for 65 inches, 10,799 for 75 inches, 12,999 for 85 inches, and 16,999 yuan for 98 inches. The Supreme version is slightly more expensive — from 9,799 to 17,999 yuan. In EUR terms, that’s roughly from €1,100 to €2,100, but Chinese prices can’t simply be converted to European ones.
And that’s the catch: for now, it’s exclusively for the Chinese market and the Chinese version, so the system and assistant are in Chinese, and Xiaomi hasn’t said anything about a European launch. If history repeats itself, the global equivalent will arrive a few months later with different specs — just like the model we sell today from European warehouses. Until then, it’s more of a glimpse into where Mini LED TVs are headed.
