At today’s conference jointly organized by Xiaomi and Meitu, not only were the smartphones Xiaomi CC9 and CC9e unveiled. They also revealed a third model named Xiaomi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition.
Similar, but still different
Xiaomi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition is very similar in specifications and design to the classic CC9 model. However, its build carries the Meitu company logo. It also has special colouring, which the company calls the “fairy color”. It’s aimed purely at the female audience, which is the main target of this model.
A custom camera software focused on selfies
The smartphone also differs in its software equipment. Not only does it include a very customized version of the MIUI overlay from Meitu, but it also has different camera software. Meitu is responsible for its development in 100% of the scope.
The camera software developed by Meitu is designed to deliver super-strong, super-realistic, and super-detailed photos. That’s how the company’s CEO described it during the presentation of the smartphone. The smartphone also includes its own version of the Portrait camera feature. The feature includes a timer that lets you take selfie photos without using your hands.
Artificial intelligence for the front camera significantly improves selfies taken in worse lighting conditions. Meitu compares this technology to photos from competing smartphones, and the differences are really noticeable.
More memory and special packaging
Xiaomi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition also comes with larger memories than the standard CC9 model. It offers up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage, which the manufacturer says is enough to save 60 000 photos.
The smartphone also differs from the standard model in the packaging itself – in this case, the box is colored in blue-green. The difference is also a unique accessory that can be purchased for the smartphone – a gold chain or a mirror.
The rest of the hardware specs are fully identical to the CC9 model. In the specifications, you’ll find a 6.39″ AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 710 processor, a 48 MPx triple rear camera, a 32 MPx selfie camera, or a 4030 mAh battery.
The price of the Xiaomi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition was set on the Chinese market at 2599 yuan, which is, in conversion, €335 / 8500 CZK. It will be available in just one memory configuration: with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. It probably won’t make it to our market.
