Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S20+: Suction power up to 6000 pa and a dual mop with automatic lifting
Xiaomi has unveiled a new model, Robot Vacuum S20+, which is expected to be sold on the international market, especially outside China. The latest product brings several upgrades compared to the original S20 robot vacuum cleaner. Improvements mainly relate to suction power, as well as a larger battery capacity. Support for local voice assistants for control is also included.
The product appeared on the manufacturer’s official website for globally targeted products, mi.com. That site revealed the key technical specifications as well as the European selling price, despite the absence of a standard press conference.
First of all, let’s look at the suction power, which in the traditional round body of the vacuum has risen to 6000 pa. Cleaning is complemented by dual rotating mop heads. Compared to the predecessor, which offered only 5000 pa and a single rotating head.
You get a choice of four cleaning modes and four suction speeds. A corner brush helps you clean hard-to-reach areas, while a precise laser LDS navigation with obstacle avoidance technology is also included.
The S20+ can recognize carpets and, based on that, lift the mop up to the level of the base structure—similar to its more expensive sibling, the X20+. The battery capacity of this robot vacuum cleaner is up to 5200 mAh, with runtime on a single charge of up to 170 minutes. Unlike the more expensive sibling, however, it does not have self-cleaning or automatic emptying; the vacuum recharges in a standard charging dock.
It’s also great that it supports smart features such as remote control and scheduling cleaning through the Xiaomi Home. app. It also supports smart voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
Price and availability of the new robot vacuum cleaner
The new robot vacuum cleaner Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S20+ should follow the launch price of the X20+ model, which is sold on the Slovak market for €429.99. Thanks to its equipment and features, the S20+ should be a bit cheaper. We still don’t know the exact amount or the availability date in Slovak or Czech stores.
