China tech giant Huawei has a big day today. It officially unveiled its flagship models for 2019 – Huawei P30 and P30 Pro. These smartphones are the current top of the market, and their biggest lure is especially a downright insane lineup of four cameras.
Even the prices don’t sit well with Xiaomi
The Huawei P30 Pro follows in the footsteps of its predecessor and is currently the new best camera smartphone on the market. However, Huawei also charges extra for its new technology. The P30 starts at €799, while the P30 Pro starts at €999 and climbs all the way to €1249 for the top version with 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage.
The high prices don’t sit well with Xiaomi either, and on its official Facebook profile it voiced its opinion. In the post below, it asks an ironic question: “Is this really necessary?”.
In another post, it directly compares the specs and the price of its Xiaomi Mi 9 with the Huawei P30 competitor.

They’re making fun of the older processor
Both the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro got the Kirin 980 processor in their hardware lineup, which enjoyed its biggest fame already last year. It debuted in last year’s Huawei Mate 20. Even though it’s a last-year chipset, it still provides plenty of performance.
However, this move doesn’t go over well at Xiaomi—specifically its UK branch—and they fired back at Huawei using a well-known meme image. With it, Xiaomi suggests that Huawei would rather go for a case with Swarovski crystals than choose the latest processor.

The best mobile camera on the market
Aside from Xiaomi’s jokes, the Huawei P30 Pro comes with what is currently the best camera on the market. It features four sensors in this configuration: a wide-angle 40 MPx sensor with an aperture of f/1.6 and OIS, 20 MPx ultra-wide sensor, 8 MPx telephoto lens, and a TOF camera for depth capturing. This entire setup scored up to 112 points in the renowned DxOmark test.
The paradox is that the current biggest rivals for the P30 Pro in photography are its predecessors: Mate 20 Pro and P20 Pro. Huawei currently holds the first three world places in camera quality.
As for the other equipment, the Huawei P30 Pro comes with a Kirin 980 processor, 6 / 8 GB RAM, 128/256/512 GB storage, an above-average 4200 mAh battery with reverse wireless charging and a very fast 40 W charging, a 6.47″ AMOLED display, and a speaker for calls built into the display.
Objectively, it’s a very worthy successor to an already perfect P20 Pro, and competition won’t have an easy time with this model.
