Xiaomi is expanding its extensive lineup of smart products with a security camera. The new Xiaomi Smart Camera C700 comes with 4K resolution, and its biggest highlight is the integration of the HyperOS ecosystem, along with artificial intelligence. Here are its other specifications.

The Xiaomi Smart Camera S700 smart home camera is available in the global version, which works in European regions through the Xiaomi Home app. You can buy the camera at local Slovak stores such as Alza.

It’s also available through the AliExpress marketplace, but there you’ll only be able to buy the Chinese version of this camera.

Info: China version of the camera works via the Chinese server in the Mi Home app. In the app settings, you need to select the region as Mainland China. Another option is to use a modified Mi Home app by Vevs, which can combine European and Chinese devices in one place. We also recommend buying a quality adapter for our power outlets.

Buying on AliExpress for the first time?

This process is done through the AliExpress mobile app, where most people shop. Two things matter: don’t use Buy now and enter the coupon only in the order summary in the Promo code field. After you click Pay now, you can’t add it anymore.

2. Use Add to cart, not Buy nowOn the product card, scroll down and click Add to cart. Don’t use the Buy now button—this skips the cart, so later you won’t have a place to enter the coupon. Before that, make sure the variant is correct: color, version, and whether it ships from an EU warehouse.
3. Continue to Checkout via the cartA pop-up will appear: Added to cart!—tap Check it out. If it disappeared, open the cart using the icon in the bottom-right corner. In terms of construction and design, the new model is similar to its predecessors Xiaomi Smart Camera 3 and Smart Camera C400. The first interesting feature is support for achieving a wider field of view.

Besides 360-degree rotation around the horizontal axis, the Xiaomi Smart Camera C700 can also move along the vertical axis by 110 degrees. The sensor itself has 8 MP resolution, which is enough for recording video in 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels).

Night vision support is of course included thanks to infrared illumination. In the dark, it will be possible to see objects up to 10 meters. The recorded footage is reportedly of quite impressive quality.

AI features and HyperOS integration

Xiaomi has built AI elements into the camera, enabling it to automatically recognize the observed objects, including people or pets. An advanced feature is face recognition for specific individuals.

You can also use this camera as a smart baby monitor, for example. It has built-in microphones, and if it detects a child’s crying, you’ll get a notification on your phone. This model supports two-way communication thanks to the built-in speaker.

You can insert a microSD card with a capacity of up to 256 GB for storing recordings. Recordings can be synchronized with cloud storage or a personal NAS. The camera supports modern Wi-Fi 6 connectivity.

Recorded content is played back through the Mi Home app. If sales of the new Xiaomi Smart Camera C700 start worldwide as well, expect the price to likely be noticeably higher.
