The Xiaomi Mijia Smart Cat Eye 2 smart door peephole is the latest generation of Xiaomi’s smart peephole camera. You can find it from the seller on Aliexpresse with expedited 10 to 15-day duty-free delivery

However, it’s important to note that the product is sold exclusively in the Chinese version and in the Mi Home app you will need to set the region to Chinese Mainland; otherwise you won’t be able to pair it and use all features. The video works only in the Chinese region of the Mi Home app.

📱 Our recommendation for Xiaomi Home: If you have a Xiaomi smartphone, use the cloned apps / dual apps feature. You can duplicate the Xiaomi Home app, and the duplicate works independently from the original app. In one app you’ll have the EU region, and in the other you’ll have the Chinese region for this doorbell. That way, you don’t have to constantly switch regions in the app.

Buying on AliExpress for the first time?

This process is done through the AliExpress mobile app, where most people shop. Two things matter: don’t use Buy now and enter the coupon only in the order summary in the Promo code field. After you click Pay now, you can’t add it anymore.

1. Copy the code and click GET THE DISCOUNTIn our article, copy the coupon and click the button GET THE DISCOUNT. The link will take you directly to the product in the AliExpress app.
2. Use Add to cart, not Buy nowOn the product card, scroll down and click Add to cart. Don’t use the Buy now button—this skips the cart, so later you won’t have a place to enter the coupon. Before that, make sure the variant is correct: color, version, and whether it ships from an EU warehouse.
3. Continue to Checkout via the cartA pop-up will appear: Added to cart!—tap Check it out. If it disappeared, open the cart using the icon in the bottom-right corner. In the cart, check the product and quantity, then tap the red Checkout button. Only the items marked with the red circle are included.
4. Fill in your address and card, then look for Promo codeIn the order summary, first enter the delivery address and payment card at the top. Below that, there’s a line Promo code — expand it with the arrow on the right.

5. Paste the code and confirm ApplyIn the field Promo code paste the copied code and click the black Apply. The code is case-sensitive and must not contain spaces.

6. Check your savings and payIn the section Summary expand the line Saved — you’ll see the applied coupon there as AliExpress coupons/codes. Only when Total is really lower, click Pay now.

Apply the discount again in the order summary. After you click Pay now, you can’t add a coupon anymore. If Apply shows an error, the code has either expired, doesn’t apply to your item, or your order doesn’t meet the minimum amount.

Store Coupon also belongs in the same field. — a coupon from the seller itself, which isn’t always available and changes day to day. It can’t be combined with an AliExpress coupon, so try both and go with the one that gives you more. Coins are added automatically.

Review from our fan in the Xiaomi Planet group:

Xiaomi Smart Cat Eye 2: New smart doorbell with HyperOS integration

A new product from Xiaomi, Smart Cat Eye 2 currently offers the most advanced smart doorbell yet. Among other things, it stands out with an exceptionally large display, excellent battery life on a single charge, and even infrared night vision.

As with previous models, the device consists of two parts. One is the camera itself, which you mount on the outer part of your door or fence. The other is the base with a 5″ screen that you can place indoors. Both devices connect to the internet via a Wi‑Fi connection and don’t require a power outlet because they also have their own battery.

Here are the key technical specifications

The Xiaomi Smart Cat Eye 2 smart doorbell features a high-resolution sensor, at the 3 MP level. It supports a wide 180° viewing angle as well as HDR imaging, resulting in a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. There’s also up to 8 infrared LEDs (940 nm) for very clear night shots.

On the base, you’ll find a preview display with a 5-inch diagonal and 720p resolution. It can show you in real time the person who is ringing in front of your apartment or house. The integrated battery has a capacity of 8000 mAh here, which is enough for 300 days of operation. In real-time space monitoring mode, it drops to 150 days.

The camera also offers special features like person detection at the door, with automatic recording triggered. It includes two-way communication between the outdoor and indoor doorbells. Communication is secured not only via the mobile app Xiaomi Home, but also through other HyperOS products, such as smart speakers and smart TVs.

The doorbell also supports voice assistants (in China, XiaoAI for now), and the mentioned integration with a smart TV lets you watch recordings on that device as well. All data exchange communication runs over a Wi‑Fi connection, which you need to have available within range where these devices are placed.
