We ordered it too—it works great
During the promotion of the Xiaomi Smart Multifunctional Rice Cooker, we couldn’t resist and bought one for our brand-new kitchen as well. It’s the perfect cooking helper—not only for rice, but for things like soups too. We tested it with rice first, and we’ll briefly share our experience so far.
Preparing rice is very easy. With the included measuring cup (a plastic cup), you can adjust the volume of cooked rice precisely. According to the instructions, we filled the rice cooker with 2 measuring cups of rice and 2 measuring cups of water. The cooking pot has a printed scale that lets you match the rice and water volume exactly. The scale should be 1:1, but we recommend adding a little less water, because the rice was then more overcooked.
After filling the pot, you just need to close the rice cooker and select a cooking mode. Since it’s a smart rice cooker, you can also add it to the Mi Home app and fine-tune the cooking settings. In the app, you can even choose the type of rice, set its target consistency, and finally start the cooking process remotely—which is awesome when you want to come home from work to ready-to-eat rice. Cooking takes 1 hour.
Besides rice, you can also prepare soups or so-called congee in this appliance—savory rice porridge. There’s also a function to keep the rice warm.

The new global model comes with the official name Xiaomi Smart Multifunctional Rice Cooker and a pot with a capacity of 3.0 liters. Design-wise, it hasn’t changed almost at all compared to its predecessors—it’s still that “white cube”.
On the top, you’ll find a touch control panel and a display showing the time. Since this is a global version, the buttons are available in English, not Chinese like in the case of Chinese versions. So the operation is much easier.
The cooker offers up to eight functions in one, so you can enjoy not only rice but also other meals. Choose from 7 cooking modes: rice, brown rice, congee (Chinese savory rice porridge), soup, steam, warming, temperature keeping, etc.

Easy connection to the Mi Home/Xiaomi Home app lets you control the cooking programs remotely. You can choose from different rice types, adjust the cooking time, set the texture you want, and cook your favorite bowl of rice.
On the features side, the rice cooker offers a 24 hour timer and a 12 hour temperature-keeping function. That way, you can enjoy your favorite meal anytime. Just add the ingredients before heading out to work in the morning, and dinner will be ready as soon as you come home. Cooking will finish exactly at the preset time.
