The much-anticipated gadget Xiaomi Tag has appeared on the official global website even before the big launch event taking place on 28. February in Barcelona. It’s a compact Bluetooth tracking key-finder that goes straight up against Apple AirTag, but brings one major advantage—it supports the Apple and Google ecosystem.
Coupons for the Xiaomi Tag will be in our FB group
If you’ve ever looked for your keys, a backpack, or luggage at the airport, this is exactly the kind of gadget that makes sense.
On AliExpress at a TOP price!
The latest Xiaomi Tag is now on sale and is also appearing on the well-known AliExpress marketplace, where it’s available at a fantastic price with a discount coupon. The advantage is fast duty-free delivery via AliExpress Standard Shipping, completely free of charge.
On AliExpress, we even found an UWB version of this tag—the one people were saying would never arrive, but the opposite is true. However, UWB technology is available only in the Chinese version of this tag, and it supports Chinese versions of Xiaomi 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and Xiaomi 17 Ultra smartphones.
You can also find the product right in Slovakia, available from our partner Smarty.sk at a very attractive price. An even better option is the discounted four-pack. The advantage is availability in local warehouses, meaning very fast delivery within 1-3 business days, or the option to pick it up at one of six Smarty stores across Slovakia.

Small, light, and durable: Just 10 grams and IP67
The Xiaomi Tag measures 46.5 × 31 × 7.2 mm and weighs only 10 g. That means you can easily toss it into your wallet, attach it to your keys, or pack it in your luggage. The minimalist design looks subtle and that’s exactly how it should be—it’s meant to be with you all the time without getting in the way.
It also has water and dust resistance with an IP67 rating. That means it can handle rain, splashes, and everyday accidents. Of course, it’s not meant for swimming in a pool, but everyday use without stress is definitely covered.
Support for Apple Find My and Google Find Hub
The biggest trump card of this new release is compatibility with two of the world’s biggest networks—Apple Find My and Google Android Find Hub. That means the Xiaomi Tag can be used by practically anyone, whether you have an iPhone or an Android smartphone with Android 9 or newer.
However, you should know that the device does not support both networks at the same time. During setup, you’ll choose one, and that one will be active. Apple devices with iOS 14.5 and above will use the Find My app, while Android smartphones connect via Find Hub. In both cases, you get access to a huge network of devices that help locate lost items anonymously.
How does the Xiaomi Tag work?
The device broadcasts a secured Bluetooth signal via BLE 5.4, which nearby compatible smartphones pick up. They then anonymously send the location to the cloud, and you can see it directly in the app. The whole process is encrypted, so only you have access to the location.
In the package, you’ll also find an integrated piezo speaker, letting you trigger an audio search. For example, if your keys are somewhere at home between cushions, you can simply make them ring. The Apple version also supports NFC tap for Lost mode, so the finder can display your contact details by tapping your phone.
Unfortunately, the expected UWB antenna that would enable tagging with meter/centimeter-level accuracy is missing here.
Lost Mode, sharing, and forgetting notifications
The Xiaomi Tag lets you easily share the device with your family and friends, so when you’re looking for lost items you don’t have to rely on yourself only. In the app, you just create a share link and send it to a specific person. They can then see the tag’s current location directly in their Find My or Google Find Hub app. Handy, for example, for a shared car, family keys, or luggage on vacation.
It also includes notifications for lost items. If your Xiaomi Tag gets separated from you and isn’t found in one of the frequently visited places, the app will send you a notification. You can also set your own “safe locations”, such as home or the office, so you don’t get unnecessary alerts. This feature is currently supported within the Apple Find My network.
There’s also a fully featured Lost Mode – loss mode. In it, you can mark an item as lost, add contact details, and include a short message for the finder. If someone finds a Xiaomi Tag, in the case of the Google network they’ll see a pop-up window with your details.
For Apple devices, just bring a smartphone with NFC close, and the owner information will be shown. It’s a simple yet very effective way to improve the chances of getting your lost items back.
Battery life lasts more than a year
The Xiaomi Tag uses a commonly available CR2032 battery, which you can simply replace. The manufacturer claims a battery life of over 1 year with typical use. Naturally, the app will also notify you when the battery is low, so you won’t get any unpleasant surprises.
Thanks to low Bluetooth power consumption and optimized communication with the network, operation is very efficient. Don’t expect any noticeable draining of your phone’s battery or excessive data transfers.
Privacy protection and anti-tracking
Xiaomi also thinks about privacy protection. Location data is encrypted during transmission, and if an unknown Tag stays near you for a longer time, the system will alert you to possible tracking. The anti-tracking feature depends on support from the specific Apple or Google network.
In practice, this means the Xiaomi Tag can be an interesting alternative not only for brand fans, but for anyone who wants an affordable tracking tag without being locked into a single ecosystem.
Availability and price
The official launch takes place on 28 February in Barcelona, but we already know the specs for now. As for pricing, in EU countries like France, a single Xiaomi Tag will be sold for €17.99, and a 4-pack for €59.99. Similar prices are also expected in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
For comparison, the Apple AirTag 2nd generation is sold in Slovak stores for €33.90, which is almost double. It also has a UWB antenna that the Xiaomi Tag lacks, but it works only with Apple devices.
