Xiaomi is preparing for its big May conference, which will take place on May 22 in China. Besides unveiling new devices like Xiaomi 15S Pro, Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra and the Xiaomi YU7 SUV, the main star of the event will be the brand’s first in-house flagship chipset, called XRING O1.

After a long period of development, Xiaomi decided to compete with giants like Qualcomm and MediaTek with its own solution, and the latest benchmark results from Geekbench look promising.
XRING O1 surprises with performance in Geekbench
According to reliable insiders like @UniverseIce and @Jukanlosreve, a Geekbench database entry showed a result for a device with the code name Xiaomi 25042PN24C. According to many sources, this is the new smartphone Xiaomi 15S Pro, which will be the first to be equipped with the XRING O1 chipset.
The benchmark results say it clearly: the single-core score ranges from 2,800 to 3,100 points, while the multi-core score reaches almost 9,300 to 9,600 points. That means the chipset sits between the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 and the Snapdragon 8 Elite, and in some areas it even outpaces Dimensity. If these numbers are true, it’s a huge step for Xiaomi and its independence from other processor suppliers.
Manufacturing technology and chipset architecture
Xiaomi has officially confirmed that XRING O1 is manufactured using the advanced 3 nm, second-generation production process, giving it an advantage over competitors using the first-generation process. According to leaked information, the chip includes one high-performance Cortex-X925 core clocked up to 3.9 GHz, three performance Cortex-A725 cores, and four power-efficient Cortex-A520 cores.
Performance comparison: Xiaomi 15S Pro vs Xiaomi 15 Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Elite
The clock speed 3.9 GHz drew attention, since even Dimensity 9400+ has a maximum of 3.73 GHz. Until now, such high frequencies only appeared in special editions like Snapdragon variants from Galaxy smartphones with 4.47 GHz. XRING O1 takes full advantage of the second-generation 3nm process, and its performance only confirms it.
An interesting comparison with the competition:
- XRING O1: 19 billion transistors & 3nm TSMC
- D9400: 29.1 billion transistors & 3nm TSMC
- Snapdragon 8 Gen 2: 16 billion transistors & 4nm TSMC
- Apple A16 Bionic: 16 billion transistors & 4nm TSMC
- Apple A18 Pro: 19 billion transistors & 3nm TSMC
Graphics performance and GPU surprise
While previous leaks suggested that Xiaomi would use a GPU from Imagination Technologies, benchmarks showed graphics from Immortalis-G925. This could mean Xiaomi ultimately chose an ARM GPU, which is a more common option among Android chipset manufacturers and also ensures better optimization for games and apps.
Immortalis-G925 is one of ARM’s newest graphics units and supports ray tracing, delivers high performance in graphics-intensive games, and offers energy efficiency. If this information is confirmed, the Xiaomi XRING O1 chipset will be very close in performance to flagship chipsets from Qualcomm or MediaTek.
The XRING O1 chipset will land in two devices
Xiaomi decided to equip its new XRING O1 chip right away in two premium devices: Xiaomi 15S Pro and Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra. The first will be the successor to the popular Xiaomi 15 Pro and will deliver top-tier performance along with a high-quality LEICA camera.
Tablet Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra will be the absolute most powerful tablet in the brand’s history, with an expected 14-inch OLED display, a 5.1 mm thin body, and support for a magnetic keyboard with a touchpad—so it can take on Apple’s iPad Pro.
We’ll have to wait a little longer for official confirmation of all the details, but it’s already clear that Xiaomi XRING O1 is one of the most exciting debuts in the mobile chip world in recent years. If the performance results hold up in real-world conditions, Xiaomi could open a new chapter of independence from traditional chipset makers like Qualcomm or MediaTek.
