14 savings when buying goods from China via Xiaomi Planet: VIP support, warranty in the EU, and coupons you won’t find anywhere else

Buying from China is normal nowadays. At the same time, it’s a lot more complicated than it used to be a few years ago. As of July 1, 2026, new customs duty rules apply to shipments up to 150 € from Chinese warehouses, coupons change day by day, and with a single phone you’ll normally run into four versions, five sellers, and six different prices.

That’s exactly why we’re here. Xiaomi Planet isn’t just a content site. How buying “via” Xiaomi Planet works

First, let’s clear up one thing, because it’s what you ask us about the most. By the term “buying via Xiaomi Planet,” we don’t mean shopping on our website. We don’t sell you anything, and your money doesn’t pass through us. You place the order and make the payment directly on the e-shop, just like you’d come to it yourself.

We act as an intermediary. In our discount and coupon articles, we place special links — always as orange buttons in the price box. When you click through and complete your purchase, the order is also recorded in our system. Only thanks to this recording can we provide you with the benefits from the list below.

Why this is free for you

For each purchase, the webshop pays us a small commission. You don’t pay it and the item price doesn’t increase for you because of it — it’s the seller’s marketing expense. We use these commissions to pay for the editorial team, hosting, and the development of our tools. So when you shop through our links, you get extra support and, at the same time, you help us keep the site running.

Our benefits, on the other hand, don’t apply to orders that you placed directly on the seller’s website or through another intermediary. In that case, we simply don’t have the order in our system and there’s nothing for us to verify.

What to watch out for so you don’t lose the benefits

This is the most common reason why an order „doesn’t go through“. Go over these points before you buy:

• Use Chrome — on both desktop and mobile, ideally with our extension. Opera, Brave, Safari, and built-in smartphone browsers aren’t reliable.
• Turn off adblock, cashback services, and price-tracking extensions. They „pull“ the order under their own control and you’ll lose our support.
• Buy in one go. If a few days pass between the click and checkout, or if you delete your cookies in the meantime, the connection may be lost.

AliExpress: the most products, but slightly different service

Today, AliExpress is by far the biggest source of deals we share on Xiaomi Planet. It has the widest selection, the most EU warehouses, and the most aggressive sales throughout the year. But let’s be honest: we don’t have our own person at AliExpress like we do in the other shops. It’s a marketplace of thousands of independent sellers, and nobody there has a „direct line to HQ“.

What you get from us on AliExpress: special coupons that are updated all year round, a selection of verified sellers (we never link to a random shop with three ratings), help choosing the right version and shipping, and exact guidance during a complaint — where and what to click, how to phrase the dispute, and how to reach a real person in the live chat. What we can’t handle for you is the complaint itself with the seller.

We selected these sellers based on many years of our own purchases. Today we share offers from Geekbuying and TradingShenzhen only occasionally — simply because their assortment has fewer items we can actually recommend. Save more than with a regular purchase

1. Special coupons with real discounts. Our long-term cooperation with sellers gives us access to codes you won’t find elsewhere. Most of them are sent to the newsletter and to Telegram, but you can also find them directly in the articles. 2. Coupon tailored to you. You’ve got a specific product in mind, but you don’t want to pay full price? Message us on Facebook, Instagram, or by email and we’ll try to get you a code. Works for Xiaomi and for other brands too.
3. We monitor prices every day. We track price changes and coupon rotation across stores, so we can tell you whether it’s worth buying today or waiting for the next sale.
4. Price history that exposes fake discounts. On Deal Planet you’ll see a price development chart for the product. If the phone was at €249 for months, then jumped to €299 a week before the event and is now “on sale” for €245, you’ll spot it at a glance on the chart. And when the price really drops to a historical low, you’ll know it’s time.
5. Price alerts instead of checking every day. Set your target price and Deal Planet will notify you when the offer drops to it. This works for a specific memory version as well, not just the model in general.

Buy safely and without surprises

6. Verified sellers, original products, no fakes. We only link to shops and sellers we’ve already tested. You won’t end up with an empty box, a bag of sand, or a copy priced like an original. If a seller stops proving themselves, we simply stop sharing them.
7. We verify the product and the seller before you buy. This is probably the most underrated thing we do. Did you find an offer somewhere that looks too good to be true? Send us the link and we’ll tell you whether the seller is trustworthy, whether it’s an original, and whether the price matches reality. Just a message — you don’t have to buy anything from us.
8. We’ll warn you about the Chinese version of the smartphone. Chinese versions are often significantly cheaper, but they’re not for everyone. We’ll tell you the differences in the system, Google services, mobile bands, or eSIM support in advance — not only after the phone arrives home. Deal Planet also labels these models directly in the catalog.
9. EU warehouses, so no customs duty or customs clearance. From July 1, 2026, shipments from Chinese warehouses to 150 € will have a 3 € customs duty per type of goods (on AliExpress it will show with VAT as approximately 3.7 €), and if you order multiple product types in one order, the fee is multiplied. For items that are already in the EU, this doesn’t matter at all, and delivery is usually just a matter of a few days. In our articles, we always list the warehouse, and on Deal Planet you can filter offers by the warehouse country.
10. We handle a lost or undelivered parcel for you. If your shipment gets lost on the way, contact us. Thanks to our direct contacts, we have better negotiation terms than a typical customer and we can push for a refund or the dispatch of a new parcel.

If something goes wrong, we’ll take care of it

11. Missing items in the package. You ordered multiple items at once and something isn’t in the shipment? Message us and we’ll arrange the delivery or a refund. And if your box is missing the EU plug/connector — which is common with Chinese products — we’ll send you a free adapter for our sockets.
12. Complaints and returns within Europe. With complaints from Chinese sellers, we have years of experience and we can handle cases that at first glance look hopeless. For products of up to around $50, sellers usually replace the item straight away with a new one. Thanks to European service centers, in most cases you don’t have to send anything back to China.

Warranty for Xiaomi phones: get service in Slovakia

This is a question we get probably most often — and the answer will pleasantly surprise most people. The global versions of Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO phones that we recommend on Xiaomi Planet come with an official international warranty. So in Slovakia, the standard two-year statutory warranty applies, regardless of whether your phone was delivered from a Chinese or a European warehouse.

In practice, that means you don’t have to send the phone back to the seller in China. Xiaomi handles complaints through its own network of authorized service centers and in the official warranty terms for Slovakia it lists these two service locations:

• 🇸🇰 ESC sk s.r.o. — authorized service for Slovakia. Pri tureckom kopci 7, 900 46 Most near Bratislava. Monday to Friday 8:00 – 16:00, phone +421 221 028 090, e-mail servis@escsk.eu, website escsk.eu.
• 🇨🇿 VSP DATA a.s. — authorized service center for the Czech Republic, Sezimovo Ústí II. You can submit a service request online via services.vspdata.cz, and it’s also available in Slovak.

The procedure is the same in both cases and you don’t have to travel anywhere:

1. You contact the service — by phone, email, or through an online form on their website.
2. You attach the IMEI and the serial number of the phone, plus proof of purchase. If you order from a Chinese web shop, a screenshot of the order with the date and amount is completely enough.
3. You arrange pickup by courier — the phone is collected right from your home, and after the repair they deliver it back to you the same way. The device can also be handed in in person at the premises.

If you can’t figure out the form or if the service doesn’t accept your claim, contact us and we’ll look into it. But watch out for one thing: this applies to global versions. Chinese versions don’t have an official international warranty and are handled via the seller — and that’s exactly why we warn you about them in advance.

You’re not alone

13. Almost nonstop online support and guidance when choosing. Can’t agree with the seller? Do you need to change the address in your order, or was your payment rejected? Write to us and we’ll sort it out. We’ll also help you choose the right product and shipping method — we know what’s worth it in a given price range and where you can buy it for the best price. 14. A community that replies even around midnight. In our Facebook group, there are already over 24 thousand people who help each other with purchases, share discounts, and warn you about non-working coupons. The catalog, prices, and coupons don’t require registration. You only need to sign in if you want to write reviews and comments or set up a price alert. Coming soon: a completely new browser extension

We’re in the final phase with a totally new Chrome extension that will replace the current one. The goal is simple — to have coupons and price history right where you shop, inside the e-shop window, not in another tab.

For now, we’re not revealing everything because some features are still being tested. But it will be a update of the current extension, so if you already have it installed, the new features will appear automatically and you won’t need to reinstall anything. Frequently asked questions about buying from China

Is buying from China safe?

Yes, if you’re buying from a trusted seller. The risk with buying from China isn’t that someone will steal your money — payments go via PayPal or a card with buyer protection, and big marketplaces have their own dispute systems. The real risk is that you might get a different model, the Chinese version instead of the global one, or a counterfeit. That’s exactly what we handle by linking only to sellers we’ve tested and by pointing out the product version.

Do I have to pay customs duty when buying from China?

For shipments from Chinese warehouses, yes. From July 1, 2026, shipments up to a value of €150 are subject to customs duty of €3 per type of goods; AliExpress charges it directly in the cart, and with VAT it comes to approximately €3.7. If your order includes more than one different product type, the fee may be multiplied. You don’t pay customs duty for goods from an EU warehouse — it’s already included in the price, and you don’t deal with customs at all.

How long does delivery take?

From a European warehouse, usually a few business days — similar to buying from a Slovak e-shop. From a Chinese warehouse, count on roughly two to three weeks, and even longer with cheaper shipping. The warehouse it ships from is listed in every article and in the price box.

Do I get a warranty on the goods from China?

Yes. As an EU consumer, you have a legally required two-year warranty. For the global versions of Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO phones, there’s also an official international warranty. Xiaomi for Slovakia lists the authorized service ESC sk s.r.o. in Pezinok near Bratislava, and for the Czech Republic VSP DATA a.s. — the phone doesn’t go anywhere; you arrange pickup with a courier. For Chinese versions, the warranty is handled through the seller, so we don’t always warn you about it in advance.

What if my package doesn’t arrive or arrives damaged?

Write to us and we’ll handle it for you. If you bought via our links, we have your order in our system and we also have direct contact through partner stores, so we can push for a refund or for a new package to be sent. With AliExpress, we guide you what to click and where so the dispute is accepted.

How much does your support cost?

Nothing. Support is free, and the price of the item won’t go up because of it. The e-shop pays us a commission from its marketing budget. The only condition is that the order goes through our orange button — otherwise we simply can’t see it in the system.

Why do I have to click your orange button specifically?

Only then can we match the order with us and stand up for it. The coupon alone isn’t enough — you can enter the code even if you came to the e-shop via another path, but then we don’t get the order assigned and we have nothing to hold onto with the seller. That’s why we recommend Chrome, adblock turned off, and finishing the purchase in one go.
