The Snapdragon 730G processor is among the newer ones. It’s been available since spring of this year and has already been used in some smartphones. The letter G, meaning Game at the end of the model lineup name, indicates that it’s optimized for increased gaming performance.
Now Xiaomi has officially confirmed that the new Xiaomi CC9 Pro will be equipped with this exact chipset.
The used processor can handle everything that the CC9 Pro needs
The mobile platform Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G brings selected gaming features „Snapdragon Elite Gaming“, which allow you to render relatively better graphics, support smoother gameplay, and manage powerful wireless audio while gaming.
Graphics performance is 15% higher compared to Snapdragon 730. It also offers Qualcomm AI Engine artificial intelligence elements for more intuitive image capture and optimized performance.
The Snapdragon 730G with 64-bit architecture has eight Kryo 470 cores, configured as 2 x 2.2 GHz Kryo 470 Gold and 6 x 1.8 GHz Kryo 470 Silver. The processor is built on 8nm technology for extreme energy efficiency in a small size. The same manufacturing process is used by the flagship Snapdragon 855.
The graphics chip is Adreno 618 that handles True HDR with extreme realism, rich graphics, and cinema-quality image processing—something that’s possible for the first time with Snapdragon’s 7th class. According to the manufacturer, Snapdragon 730G delivers high performance and impressive battery life.
The chipset is optimized to support displays with resolutions up to Quad HD+, specifically 3360 x 1440 with HDR10. Among the other supported features, we can mention
- Video recording 4K/30 fps
- Slow-motion video recording at 1080p/120 FPS and 720p/960 FPS,
- Bluetooth support 5.0,
- WiFi 802.11ax-ready, 802.11ac Wave 2, 802.11a/b/g, 802.11n in bands 2,4 and 5 GHz,
- USB 3.1 and USB-C,
- Beidou, Galileo, GLONASS, GPS, QZSS, SBAS positioning services
- LTE Download: 800 Mbps and LTE upload 150 Mbps
As we already mentioned, this chipset has already been used in several smartphones, and the best of them—such as the Oppo Reno 2—reach scores of around 240,000 points in the AnTuTu Benchmark. We trust Xiaomi here, because based on experience we know that with performance optimization, their developers usually don’t mess it up.
The price could have played a role too
Moreover, using a cheaper but at the same time powerful and energy-efficient chipset is a understandable step that keeps the smartphone’s price well below the price level of flagship models from other brands. Based on the available information, we know that the
Not just cameras—sound will be exceptional too
A quality camera system and performance aren’t enough. A popular, top-tier smartphone must be a complete package of thoughtfully developed features and flawless hardware that all work together in a user-friendly whole.
One of the tracked items is also audio playback. The output sound needs to have a sufficient volume level while preserving the most faithful output possible without distortion. Xiaomi CC9 Pro
Interesting notifications
CC9 Pro learned to “breathe,” with this feature primarily designed to inform you about missed events. With the display turned off, the rounded edges of the display light up intermittently in white-blue shades, letting you know about a received message, a missed call, and other events.
It’s basically a replacement for the notification LED, which so far hasn’t been confirmed for the CC9 Pro.

Users with AMOLED display smartphones and MIUI could already try this function after installing an unofficial, user-adapted MIUI 11.
