In the box
The Yeelight Arwen D600 model package includes the light itself (split into a mounting base and the lamp), the mounting kit (screws, anchors), the manual, and a Bluetooth remote control.
The light was packaged properly in a thick cardboard box, with extra protection provided by polystyrene supports. Even though the white cover of the light itself isn’t particularly tough, the light arrived without any damage—so we rate the packaging positively.
Build quality and design
In terms of design, the D600 is made in a minimalist style, with a matte plastic diffuser that evenly spreads the light and prevents any shadows. It isn’t flashy and doesn’t deviate from the usual standard, so it fits great in any home.
The light holder that’s mounted to the ceiling is metal and sturdy; the light is well sealed and resistant to dust and insects. Overall, it feels high quality.
Installation and setup
Installation is fairly straightforward, and even a less experienced DIYer can handle it. As we mentioned, the Yeelight Arwen D600 consists of a stand and the light fixture itself with a diffuser. The fixture simply clicks into the stand using two latches. Disassembly is just as easy—press the pair of red release clips and remove the light from the stand.
For the installation, we used the included wall plugs with screws. However, we ran into a smaller issue. A small plastic part with clamps is also screwed into the stand—it is used for grounding and at the same time for connecting the cables. In our case, the screw was too short, so the entire part fell out. We had to buy a longer screw.
Next, we connected the cables to the clamp. They simply get pushed in—no screws are needed. After that, you just slide the main light unit with the diffuser into the metal base.
So the installation is truly simple and fast. We recommend you don’t forget to switch off the circuit breaker for the lighting circuit, or at least turn off the light switch so you don’t end up connecting cables while they’re live.
Power and features
The Yeelight Arwen D600 is one of the flagship models from the brand. It offers a pair of lights: main and ambient. The main light has a rated power of 50 W and consists of 81 LED modules with a power of 1 W, plus another 60 LED modules with a power of 0.15 W. The ambient light has a rated power of 20 W and is made up of 27 LED modules with a power of 1.35 W and 60 LED modules with a power of 0.15 W.
Maximum brightness delivers up to 4800 lumens, and we can customize the color temperature in the range of 2700 – 6500 K. It also supports RGBIC lighting with 16 million colors, including various lighting effects.
The lamp’s lifespan is approximately 25 000 hours and more than 15 000 switching cycles (off/on).
Connecting to the app and its interface
The Yeelight Arwen D600 supports both Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth connections. You can control the light via the Xiaomi Home app, or also using voice assistants like Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa. SmartThings is also supported.
Pairing with the Xiaomi Home app is extremely easy and fast. The app immediately recognized the light nearby and offered to pair it. During this process, you just select your home WiFi network, enter the password, and the rest happens automatically.
The app’s environment is simple and intuitive. At the top, you switch between the main and ambient light, and once you turn it on, the entire screen area changes color according to the selected mode. From here, you can then adjust the color temperature by swiping left/right, and the color as well if you’re in a color mode. By swiping up/down, you set the brightness.
At the bottom, there are icons for turning the light on/off, daylight, night light, effects, color, and favorites.
Light functions and lighting modes
The Yeelight D600 offers several advanced features. Both brightness and color (temperature) can be adjusted in very fine steps, so you can tailor the light exactly to your preferences.
The so-called color rendering index, CRI, is high (Ra98), which means accurate color rendering when illuminating interiors. The night mode is also great—it dims the light so much that it provides comfortable lighting without straining your eyes.
Another really interesting feature is the scenes or effects, offering up to 16 types with different effects. You’ll find, for example, a rainbow, party mode, flashing, fire, a heartbeat pulse, or even a Christmas theme. You can also watch some of them in the video below:
Settings
Settings are hidden in the app behind the three-dots symbol. Here, you can turn on automatic light-off after 1 to 60 minutes or schedule a sleep mode with possible repetition on the selected days. Unfortunately, the scheduled sleep mode didn’t work properly and the light didn’t turn off at the chosen time.
Another option is setting a gradual on/off, where you can choose from various options from 100 ms to almost 10 seconds. This means the light doesn’t turn on instantly when you switch it on—its brightness will gradually increase to the target value. The same applies when turning it off.
Next, you can set whether you want the ambient light to turn on together with the main light or not—and what should happen after you switch it off. The light can return to the state it was in before you turned the switch off, it can also turn on automatically all the time, or it can stay off until you turn it on again via the app or a remote control.
You can also pair the lamp with the Mi Wall Switch wall controller together with the Yeelight Flex, which unfortunately we don't have available.
The app also lets you create a group of lights, which you can then set up and control at the same time.
Remote control and its features
The Bluetooth remote control is small, compact, and has only a few buttons, but they offer multiple functions depending on whether you press them briefly or hold them longer. For operation, you need a CR2032 flat battery, which isn’t included in the package.

It also works without an internet connection, since it communicates directly via Bluetooth. It's ideal if you don’t want to use your phone for every single control.
