Xiaomi Sound 2 Max is a completely new flagship speaker in the Xiaomi lineup. The manufacturer is targeting demanding fans of high-quality sound (audiophiles) with it. Housed in a robust cabinet reminiscent of a subwoofer, it features a tri-way acoustic system with a total output of up to 100 W.

Minimalist metal design and quality workmanship

The speaker body is made of an aluminum alloy, helping to suppress unwanted resonances and keep distortion low even at higher volume levels. The front magnetic panels are interchangeable, so you can match it to the look of your interior.

The standard silver color version looks clean and modern. It will also stand out nicely in the living room with your TV or on a solid stand.

A symmetrical internal architecture with two 4-inch woofers in the upper and lower sections, complemented by a 4-inch midrange driver and a 1.5-inch tweeter, distributes sound evenly.

To deliver the best home-cinema or stereo setup experience, Xiaomi offers optional accessories for the Sound 2 Max speaker—specifically a wireless audio adapter that supports dual wireless connectivity through a pair of Wi‑Fi chips. They ensure stable connections for grouping multiple speakers and at the same time provide low latency of just 64 ms.

Thanks to this technology, the speaker can work together in stereo mode or in a multi-channel audio system (e.g., a 2.0 setup or up to a 4.0 setup) without the need for physical cable connections. For the most precise audio/video synchronization—for example when watching movies on your TV—Xiaomi’s adapter features an HDMI ARC or HDMI eARC interface and supports PCM output.

The adapter uses a custom Xiaomi Dual-Core Wireless Sync algorithm, which significantly reduces audio latency transfer, ensuring lossless quality when playing CD-quality audio (44.1 kHz / 16-bit). With this technology, you’ll enjoy smooth audio output without dropouts or delay.

The adapter is compatible with the Xiaomi Sound 2 Max speaker and allows you to connect 1, 2, or even up to 4 speakers simultaneously. When configured with four speakers, it creates a complete 4.0 surround sound system—ideal for modern living rooms or multimedia spaces.

Price and availability

In China, Xiaomi Sound 2 Max is launching at 1999 juan (approx. €239), and you can also add a wireless audio connector to the bundle for the equivalent of €36. It’s not yet confirmed whether this product will officially reach the global market, but it’s already an interesting alternative to large smart speakers.
