- OS4.0.1.0 has already been received by five European phones
- In the global version, there are already ten models
- REDMI Note 15 5G already has OS4.0.2.0
- Xiaomi’s date for Europe is still not available
Owners of European and global Xiaomi phones are waiting for HyperOS 4 for almost two weeks, since the first customers received it in China. Xiaomi still hasn’t published the date, but on its servers you can see builds with a different number than before, starting from October 22. They’re numbered the way Xiaomi usually numbers versions until they’re for customers, and among the first are not only expensive flagship models, but also cheap REDMI and POCO.
We went through 1 800 records that the XiaomiTime Telegram channel captured from 12. to 27. October. The channel tracks every new firmware version that appears on Xiaomi’s servers, and based on it, it’s clearer today which phones are next first.
What does the HyperOS build number 4 reveal?
The test builds that Xiaomi releases almost every day have zero in the second-to-last position and then the sequence number, e.g. OS4.0.0.14. For customer versions it’s the other way around: the sequence number is in the second-to-last position, and at the end there’s a zero. Chinese Xiaomi 17 received a stable update OS4.0.4.0 on October 22, and three days later another one, OS4.0.5.0.

European and global builds with the number OS4.0.1.0 started appearing on October 22. Web HyperOS Insider labeled them on Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra as finished stable versions that Xiaomi could start rolling out soon. But the XiaomiTime channel still lists them as internal, so you can’t download them onto your phone yet.
These phones almost have the European version ready
Phones bought in Slovak stores almost always have the European system version. In it, the Build OS4.0.1.0 has, so far, received five models:
- Xiaomi 17, build OS4.0.1.0.XPCEUXM from October 22
- Xiaomi 17 Ultra including the Leica Leitzphone edition, OS4.0.1.0.XPAEUXM from October 22
- POCO F8 Ultra, OS4.0.1.0.XPMEUXM from October 22
- POCO X8 Pro Max, OS4.0.1.0.XPLEUXM from October 22
- POCO X8 Pro also with the Iron Man edition, OS4.0.1.0.XPJEUXM from October 27
For Xiaomi 15, 15 Ultra, 15T and 17T Pro, the European builds are still numbered as test builds. The newest build for Xiaomi 15 from October 22 has the number OS4.0.0.14, so the older flagship model is currently one step behind the cheaper POCO X8 Pro.

With Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra, that’s not surprising, since for them a global HyperOS 4 beta has been running since September 10. POCO F8 Ultra and X8 Pro Max didn’t make it into it, and even so they have a European build with the same number as the flagship Xiaomi.
Phones from European warehouses are even better off
If you ordered a phone from a European warehouse of a Chinese shop, it often has the global system version. You’ll recognize it by the letters MI before the XM suffix. Build OS4.0.1.0 in it has already received ten models:
- Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra
- POCO F8 Pro, even though its European version is still on the test number
- POCO X8, which is also sold as REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G
- REDMI Note 15 Pro 5G and REDMI Note 15 Pro 4G
- REDMI Note 17 5G and its twin POCO M8 Power
- REDMI Note 15 5G and POCO M8 5G
- REDMI 15C 4G and POCO C85 4G
- REDMI 15C 5G, POCO C85 5G and REDMI 17C 4G
Farthest along is REDMI Note 15 5G, which is also sold as POCO M8 5G. On Tuesday, October 27, it got its second such build, OS4.0.2.0, while the global Xiaomi 15 still only has the test build OS4.0.0.12 from October 23.

Among the first ones, there are also REDMI 15C and POCO C85, which are among Xiaomi’s cheapest phones. With major updates, though, cheap models usually get in only at the very end. Together with the European versions, builds with this number have already received 13 different phones.
When will HyperOS 4 arrive in Europe?
No one knows the exact date outside Xiaomi. The Xiaomi4mi website estimates that the stable version will show up outside China one to three months after the Chinese one, so sometimes between November and January. According to builds with OS4.0.1.0, the first phones might even make it earlier, but Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed it.
The internal build isn’t an update yet. Before release, Xiaomi often rolls out one more fixed version, and with some models the new system may be delayed. For example, POCO F8 Pro received OS4.0.1.0 in the global version, but on October 27 Xiaomi still sent a fix: HyperOS 3 with the OS3.0.302.0 number, which addresses screen freezing.

Buying a phone for Black Friday? Here’s how the models from the first wave are doing
If you’re just choosing a new phone and want HyperOS 4 among the first, look at the models that already have the European build OS4.0.1.0. Out of those, the best deal on Heureka right now is the POCO F8 Ultra with 16 GB and 512 GB. It’s at the lowest price in history, and compared to the average over the last three months, it comes out almost €120 cheaper. However, that price is available from only one store with a discount code, and other offers are about €130 more expensive. You’ll find the cheapest offer on Heureka.
With the others, it’s worth waiting. The POCO X8 Pro Max with 512 GB was in August for just under €20 less than it is today, the POCO X8 Pro with 512 GB was €70 less, and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra at the end of September cost more than €190 less. Black Friday on Heureka runs until November 27, so their prices may still drop.
During the Black Friday event itself, Heureka currently has only Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro among phones, both at the lowest prices in history. However, European HyperOS 4 is only available for the 17T Pro in test builds so far.
