Its energy value 18,58 Wh is well below the limit of 100 Wh, so you can take it on a plane without any issues. Only 6 mm thickness and premium workmanship
Thickness of 6 mm is something we’ve almost never seen with magnetic power banks so far. The body looks like a thin card that you can slide into a small bag without any trouble—or even into the back pocket of your pants. Xiaomi used an aluminum alloy with a subtle metallic sheen, making the device feel premium and durable.
The surface is treated with a fiberglass layer with a heat-resistant finish and an excimer coating, so it feels great in your hand. Rounded corners are included, along with a minimalist logo created using photolithography, and overall a very clean design that matches modern smartphones.
Silicon-carbon battery and Xiaomi Surge technology
Despite the extremely thin body, there’s a battery inside with a typical capacity of 5000 mAh. Xiaomi used a high-density silicon-carbon technology with 16 % silicon content, allowing compact dimensions without compromising on capacity.
Heat dissipation is handled by a 4369 mm² graphite layer that helps stabilize the temperature during charging. The result is reliable, long-lasting stable performance that you’ll appreciate in everyday use.
Wireless 15 W and wired 22,5 W charging
The main highlight is magnetic wireless charging with up to 15 W. Full power is especially supported by the Xiaomi 17 series, but compatibility is broader. iPhone models can handle magnetic charging up to 7.5 W, which is the standard for MagSafe-compatible solutions.
If you need higher power, you can reach up to 22.5 W wired charging via the USB-C port. In a pinch, you can charge your smartphone faster and more efficiently. The power bank also supports simultaneous charging of two devices and can even charge devices while it’s charging itself.
Wide compatibility across brands
Xiaomi also thinks about users of other brands. The power bank is compatible with Xiaomi models 12, 13, 14 and the 15 series, but also with iPhone 12 through the 17 series. Support for Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, S24 Ultra, or the S25 series is included, and even for Google Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 generations.
Magnetic induction works at a frequency of 120 – 147 kHz and ensures a stable attachment to the back of compatible devices. Just bring it close and charging starts automatically.
Safety first
Xiaomi has implemented up to ten levels of protection. There’s protection against overvoltage at both input and output, short circuits, overheating, over-discharge, and overcharging. Detection of foreign objects during wireless charging is also a given.
The Dual-NTC temperature control system manages temperature regulation so that the device feels comfortable to the touch even during more intensive charging. The power bank also meets strict certification standards, including CCC and other international requirements.
Price and availability
The Xiaomi UltraThin Magnetic Power Bank 5000 15W is already on sale in selected countries, such as Australia, where the official price is set at AU$ 69.50, which comes to about €45. Europe, including Slovakia and the Czech Republic, should follow in the coming days, and we expect similar pricing.
